As supplied, Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) is a highly capable multi-purpose fully certified Google TV 14 Box offering the ability to install most popular streaming apps including Netflix, Prime Video, ITVX, Channel 4, Channel 5, Disney+, Youtube, HBO Max and Android Kodi. There is support for Dolby Vision FEL, HDR10+, ATMOS and DTS:X within the Android media player app and Android Kodi.
COREELEC WITH DOLBY VISION FEL
A custom version of CoreELEC (Linux based Kodi running on ARM hardware) was developed for Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) in May 2026 giving near total 4K format support including full FEL Dolby Vision and full BD ISO menus. Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) can dual boot CoreELEC and Google TV. We do not pre-install CoreELEC! We supply as factory, with Google TV 14 pre-installed. You must install CoreELEC yourself, See FAQ below.
BLUETOOTH AND IR VOICE REMOTE
Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) is supplied with a Bluetooth and IR voice remote for easy voice control of Google TV.

We sell Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) in preference to other products with similar CoreELEC Dolby Vision FEL support because it offers the best value, with 95%+ of the features at less than 30% of the price. Compared to Ugoos AM6B Plus, Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) lacks an ethernet port (**we sell a bundle with USB Ethernet adaptor to overcome this problem!**), does not support MVC 3D, has no S/PDIF port and fewer and slower USB ports (**our USB/Ethernet bundle gives 3x USB ports!**). We think these compromises are worth it in a budget home-brew 4K alternative to more fully featured 8K Media Players from Zidoo or R_volution.

Q Is CoreELEC pre-installed?
A No. We supply as factory. You must install CoreELEC yourself.
Q Is CoreELEC necessary?
A Depends! You can install Kodi (or other media player apps) from the pre-installed Play Store and run it in Google TV (Android). The built in media player and Kodi Android both support Dolby Vision FEL, AV1 and all HD-Audio formats. The advantages of installing CoreELEC are that it runs faster and the box will boot direct into it.
Q Will my warranty be invalidated if I try to install CoreELEC?
A No. This is a significant difference between us and other retailers. Your 24 month warranty is still valid if you install / attempt to install CoreELEC.
Q Do you offer technical support for CoreELEC?
A Only to a limited extent. Most (and all detailed) questions should be posted on the CoreELEC forum.
Q Power supply compatibility / PSU type?
A Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) ships with an external 5.2V 2.1A Europlug PSU suitable for 100-240V. We add a free British sourced Power Connections BCA-BK semi-permanent fused plug adapter (satisfies British BS5733, BS1363 and BS1362 standards) to all UK / Ireland / Malaysia / Malta / Cyprus / UAE / Singapore orders. We add a free high quality US 2 square pin adapter to all USA / Canada / China / Japan orders. We add a free high quality Australian 2 pin adapter to all Australia / New Zealand orders.
