I'm not sure if it was asked before or mentioned, but is the Samba version supported 1.0 or 2.0? because I've experienced network cut outs on my LAN between my PC and the Q10 Pro (copying many files into the HDD inside the box)
So I wondered if it's worth it to install LANDrive instead of the built-in SMB client/server?

Thanks

Thanks, but I have issues with its limitations. as in, I cannot keep the share name, and setting the shares is not working correctly. plus I cannot set users and have to set it to anonymous.

Pcristi: Can you implement a v2/v3 Samba client/server in a new custom firmware? Android released a port of Samba that supports both a while ago: https://ww.9to5google.com/2017/07/06/google-releases-android-samba-client-app-for-mounting-smb-file-shares-in-files-app/

Thanks.

Hello, fellow HiMedia Q10 Pro / Q5 users!
For all curious (and brave enough too) - I've mastered to install entware at HiMedia Q10 Pro 8) So now you can install any from a more than few hundred packages, e.g. full-featured samba, or transmission, or vsftpd etc. etc. etc. The manual is attached to this message. It includes samba and VSFTPD setups too.
This setup is tested at CS-AK firmware 2.1.4. The root access is required (at least, for current setup).
There is ONE known drawback: at least right now firmware doesn't shutdown entware at system poweroff/reboot automatically. If pcristi will create some hook in the firmware to make it possible it would be magnificent (smth. like to script in /system/etc that will be called at shutdown/reboot).

Hi everyone,
I just installed the latest @pcristi 2.1.4 Custom Firmware
I did some tests:

1 - KODI 18.2 when I search on WORKGROUP my Server tells me "ERROR - Invalid Argument"
The only way to find it is to enter its IP address by hand and then it works.

2 - I have an "old" Samsung full hd TV but the Q10 Pro allows me to also see 4K, obviously in 1920x1080.

3 - With the Q10 Mediacenter I can see the BluRay menus of both Full HD and 4K, the few films I have are in BDMV folders and the menus work, only a Harry Potter film starts the same with the film but if I recall the Full Menu comes out and works, not bad.
4 - With this latest firmware 2.1.4 all films work at 60Hz whether I use its Mediacenter or I use KODI
Do I also need to install the auto FMTswitch to have the 24Hz gearbox?
I read that by starting the films with the FULL BLURAY MENU’ then the film will only go to 60Hz, that is, it does not change the frequency.
I happened to see DEADPOOL starting from the FULL BLURAY MENU 'and it worked at 24Hz !!!!!
All others go to 60Hz.

So in summary I ask you for help:

Do I need to install autoFMTswitch or is it not necessary on the 2.1.4 Custom Sign? Or it doesn't work?

The app for the BLURAY Menu I saw that it is already included among those installed by this Custom Firmware, do I have to activate it before launching the Mediacenter or KODI or is it not needed?

I apologize for my English and for the many questions but for me it's all new ...

Thank you!

Hi guys,

I updated Himedia Q5 Pro to firmware 2.1.4. But, Kodi can't play audio 7.1 DTS, no sound output. I must change audio to 5.1 to play movie.
I tested with official firmware 2.1.4, and it is working normally.
Could you help me fix this issue? I need use ATV firmware for Q5 pro because I need to use Google Assistant :(

Hi Pcristi

I am a new user of Q10 pro for around 2 months (bought from geekbuying).
When trying to use your CFW to fix the issue of "Kodi play via NFS" , I realized the building number in my box was newer than all FW in forum : HMD-2.1.4 2019-09-10.150132. And it's strange that there is no backup function at all. There is no google store. I am not sure which mode I have since the start screen is different with the ones you posted.
Can I continue to rebuild with your CFW (w/o any backup) ?

Hi All

Just to be sure, as having read topic I’m not. Currently running custom 2.09. Can I update straight to 2.14 or are there any intermediate builds which I have to install until finally installing 2.14?

Thanks

From version 2.0.4 and above you can install directly version 2.1.4

Think this maybe for pcristi albeit others may know as many use the custom versions so perhaps have had same dilemma. I noticed when downloading the 2.14 option that the kodi version is 18.2. On pcristi mediafire there is a kodi folder listing newer versions  of Leia builds being shitty armeabi to 18.5 and /Leia armeabi to 18.6. Can someone explain the difference between them , not the version and which one do I download and install so as I have the kodi skin which pcristi normally inserts with the custom versions.

thanks again
