I attempted to download and install this OTA update twice and both times I had the same result, once installed and rebooted, the unit was in a constant "Google Play Services has stopped" (if I recall correctly) loop. It was extremely frustrating trying to navigate to the settings/apps section to uninstall the updates and allow Google Play to reinstall itself.
Unfortunately, at the moment, this box is NOT the premier device it is supposed to be.

What firmware were you running when you updated?

In general, if you install from the update file we provide (http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=907.0) using the upgrade button method (described in the forum thread) you'll be OK.

I'd also recommend the CS custom firmware over the official. It has updated apps and the skin is more pleasing. Again, use upgrade button install method: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=812.0

When flashing it over 1.0.3.
Made it by flashing 1.0.1 at the first attempt and then flashing 1.0.3 over it.

I CONFIRM! DO NOT USE OTA UPDATE IF YOU ARE RUNNING 1.0.3 ALREADY!!!
This is why I wanted to re-flash 1.0.3

For me, this are the options:

- RGB 8bit
- RGB 10bit
- YCbCr444 8bit
- YCbCr444 10bit
- YCbCr422
- YCbCr420 8bit
- YCbCr420 10bit

I have the Vizio M70-C3.  Looked through the specs and I find nothing that references these options.  How do I know which is best for my tv?
Anyone else out there with a Vizio M70-C3 and know the best settings?  Testing each of these is not ideal for me, would rather just know what the best settings are based on the tv.

wow, no help at all from anyone re my above question - what a bummer.

Would be nice to get a freakin firmware update that fixes the auto switching and wrapper 4k issues.  this box is starting to collect dust and is at risk of replacement.

You asked about a specific TV (Vizio M70-C3), which I guess no other users have. You did get a reply, which I think is the best answer, just try out the different modes and see which is best.

I did try them all and it's hard to tell much difference, with my old eyes.    Also, it wasn't so much about the TV, as I wanted to know - assuming you have the best TV available today, which one would you select?  This means I really don't know which one should be the best.

Any sign of a new firmware?

My Q10 Pro won't update to either the custom firmware or the official firmware - it makes it about 1/3 through the process before throwing an error message with the little android guy on his back. This error occurs when I try to do the "push button" method or through the settings menu.

I've followed the instructions, renaming the zip file to simply "update", tried two different USB drives (both formatted NTFS), tried all three USB ports and I keep getting the same error.

I've done a couple searches here for solutions but haven't really come up with anything - anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

Try formatting the usb stick to FAT32 and see what happens.

Try formatting the usb stick to FAT32 and see what happens.

Tried that but I get the same error.

So far I've tried:

Latest official firmware on USB 3.0 thumb drive formatted both FAT32 & NTFS inserted in each of the  (3) USB ports using both the "push-button/paperclip" and the "settings" method.

Latest custom firmware on USB 3.0 thumb drive formatted both FAT32 & NTFS inserted in each of the  (3) USB ports using both the "push-button/paperclip" and the "settings" method.

Latest official firmware on a SD card inserted into the SD card slot using both the "push-button/paperclip" and the "settings" method.

Placed firmware on internal SD card and tried to update from there.

Numerous factory resets.

Anything else I can try? Installing the newest beta or an older firmware perhaps?

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Personally, I've never had that problem but here's a link to installing the firmware, see if this will help, otherwise maybe someone else has an answer.

Thank you for the suggestions.

The box finally upgraded to the custom 1.0.3 firmware using the paper clip method.

Not sure why it refused to update using that method the first 20+ times, but at least now it's updated...
