Can anyone tell me why there's problems with 5.1 audio (detects only 2 channels)  with the latest Q10 Pro Android 5.1 / 1.1.0 version?
Anyone else having the same issues?  Will this problem be solved with upgrade to Android 7 and the new Q10 Pro 2.0 Firmware?

All info much appreciated. Thanks

That depends. Are you using Kodi 17 without the Wrapper? If you are, then that is the reason why you don't have surround. The Kodi team changed the way the audio sink is programmed so it is more compatible and compliant with Google's guidelines. Unfortunately that means that Android 5 and below will not see any surround support in Kodi 17.
In Kodi 16 however, you should have proper DTS and Dolby Digital output from within Kodi even without the use of the Wrapper. Just as long as you enable audio pass through.

And upgrading to a android 7 firmware still won't fix multi channel passthrough as far as I know, even with 2.0.3

We need audiotrack v23 or higher in the firmware from HiMedia but there is no defined time or even a commitment.

We'll this is for kodi 17 without wrapper. Even with the Wrapper it doesn't work for any streaming sources, which includes my emby server files and OTA TV from my local server.

Installed latest version on my Q10 Pro, result: the return button in Kodi movie area, on the remote does not work anymore, the function can be used by the Del button. Most annoying.. Another function button not working in the same area is Menu.. This is where it is getting uncomfortable..

Hi all,

Yesterday I changed the firmware on my Q10 Pro from 5.1 to 7.0 (2.0.3).
Everything seems to work perfectly except one thing: the launcher.

I cannot change the launcher to a custom launcher (like I had in 5.1).
When o go to settings>apps>default apps>home app only 1 launcher shows: "launcher_3D".
I tried installing Nova Launcher (prime), and it doesn't even open, I directly get the message that Nova stopped working.
I already tried to reset all default apps, but unfortunately without any success.

Can someone please  help me with this issue?

Have you tried any other launchers? Just one launcher not working is not really a baseline for a bug report. Try Simple Launcher or TV Launcher or even the Google Now Launcher. If all those launchers force close as well, then you might be on to something.

This was the same with 2.0.1 and is why I left the android 7 firmwares. The launchers work, but default can't be changed. I reported thus here and to himedia.

Has anyone, that is experiencing issues with setting a different launcher as the default launcher, tried to press the "home" button .. It should ask which launcher you would like to use. You can then select a different one and also indicate if this should be the default choice. That could be a workaround.

I hope they fixed this in 2.0.3 but I suspect it will be the same and return to the himedia launcher. I tried these steps and tried to set the default launcher in the settings and nine if it worked. Pretty sure Futeko also commented to say there is a problem with this.

Just checking. After all the issues I have been reading on here, I did not upgrade yet so I can not test this. Shame that there is a regression there. I do feel that the firmware is more of a beta than a stable release version.

Im hoping you could help with some issues we've been trying to solve for some days without luck.

Issue! Audio output on the Himedia Q10 Pro.

No matter what we been trying, we cant get anything else than PCM 2 channel audio out on the Himedia q10 pro.

Been trying passthrough and al of its options, but the same fault remains. Cant get any HD-master or True HD what so ever. Absolutely all settings are tried

But in the Kodi Settings / System menu in Audio options, the first choice in this menu is Audio Output Device (which is greyed out and set to android) can not be changed, and thats probably the cause of the problems

Qestion is: how to I manage to change this greyed out option so that I can have the
Audio output Device set to HDMI or SPDIF (instead of android)?

And why did this just change suddenly... Its been working fine until futeko
released the latest updates and completely f....... everything up.

I kindly ask you to help me out with this issues. Thank you

Hi Guys

Hoping someone can help, I'm on 2.0.1 and Android 7 but even on Android 5.0 I've been having issues in KODI where an audio synch issue develops after a while and I don't mean just while watching video but also with the 'click' sound as I click up and down through the menus seems to be a couple seconds behind the on-screen movement. If I reboot the box it usually fixes the problem for a while, and as I said, this was happening even before I 'upgraded' to Nougat so I can't figure out what's causing KODI to get bogged down and sluggish after a while. I've only installed one or two apps and shutting them down doesn't help.  The irony is that I also have a "cheap Chinese Android Box" (X92) which doesn't have any of these issues, and the setup is almost identical (and that box cost a third of the Q10!).

Has anyone heard of these issues before?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

HD-Audio doesn't work in Kodi 17. You need to install the 'shitty' build (it restores HD-Audio method from Kodi 16.1). See here: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/android/arm/ and here: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/android/arm/kodi-20170411-a4896c0-shitty-armeabi-v7a.apk

That will enable 5.1 audio passthrough in Kodi native player the same as Kodi 16.1.

Using Kodi+wrapper you get full 7.1 HD-Audio, but only for local files.
