where is the button menu Kodi player?

Use the lower right button on the remote, if I remember correctly. I am referring to the buttons around the navigation/OK center button.

Official kodi released an update. 17.1, now some audio passthrough works. Only stereo is passing through. No surround sound is working. Not even Dolby Digital AC3. Oh and I  notice no Dolby  digital transcoding. But transcoding is available on phone version. I still have to patch 2.0.3 up to official q10pro firmware

There is still no AudioTrack v23 or higher for Kodi 17 in firmware 2.0.3!
So HD audio passthrough will not work!

Help!
Kodi doesn't ask for smb password, so I get "permision denied" when wanting to connect to my shared folder on Windows 10.

How do I get to type in the smb username and password in Kodi 17?

Now I use:
smb://Main-PC/Videofiles/  but the folder requires to have an username and password.

I have an Android 5.1 Firmware 1.1.0. , And everything works well. do you think Android 7 and firmware 2.01 is okay  ?? is the time to renew ?? but i read on forum some problems about audio passtrough.
maybe you should stay on 5.1 ??

If you use tasker then no. If you use another launcher then no as well. These are the two things that made me return to 5.1.1

The passthrough is a problem for all firmwares for this box.

I ordered my q5 pro with Android 7 and kodi 17.  I though these boxes can be easily uprgaded online, or do you need  to upgrade using an sd card and flashing the box every time?  If so what a waste of money

Hello!

Maybe it's reported already, but as I have yet run in to it as well I would like to give it a bit accentuation:

In the case of external subtitles all the " (quotation mark) characters appear incorrectly and rather showing some "empty square" character on screen. Tried to set to all the possible encoding types manually, but it won't help this time.

Fw version: 1.0.9 (but I guess it would be the same in the case of other versions.)

Please give Himedia a reminder to fix this, along with the memo for the need of the general Auto encoding recognition enhancement.

Thank you!

Better is to wait for the newest firmware!

@Paulo72 - so far Android 7 versions had to be flashed. I remember Futeko saying at one time that in the future Android 7 will also be OTA. Shouldn't be such a big problem to solve, but there's lots of work to be done generally on Android 7 version!

@Mount81 - yeah, subtitles have plenty of reported problems. Biggest ones being encoding recognition and skipping subtitles due to close timing. Let's see what the next version will bring. Both were reported months ago, but no new version since then.

You can use wrapper Wrapper-1.0.1_HMD_1229_Release.apk with  KODI 17.1

 DTS+DTS-HD+TRUE HD+ DOLBY DIGITAL working
