What is now with the new firmware, this should be released mid-March at the latest.!!!
I hope very much that Himedia has the problems with Kodi 17 now under control with upcomming Firmware.
Himedia had enough time, the last update is so long ago.

"return" is now "del" button, and for "menu" just press and hold "ok" button for little longer.

That "feature" to change/disable remote button mapping was introduced in one of the last test releases.
