Hi,

I have old DUNE H1 with hard disk inside. My Windows PC can access files on this HDD over home network.
Also I have new Dune RealBox 4K and it can not access files on old Dune HDD.
I think this is because old DUNE uses SMBv1 protocol. How can I enable SMBv1 on new RealBox 4K?
Maybe there are some other ways to access files on old Dune from new Dune?

Thanks

Hi,

last week I received the Realbox 4K and I have some problems with:

1.) Zoom takes no effect (only "make wider" and "make Smaller")
2.) There is no new feature: Added "Setup / Misc / Display / Brightness" in Version "200910_2300_r14" ("Display" is not shown in the Setup/Misc Section)
3.) Normally all my Dune Players start in standby after switching on the socket, but the Realbox boots completely
4.) Self-made m2ts-file only Audio will be played (no video)

I'm using Dune Players vor over 10 years (Dune Base 3.0, TV101, TV303D, Base 3D, Solo Lite 4k), so far every problem could be solved. But Factory Reset, Firmware Downgrade, Firmware Upgrade brought no solution, so either the Realbox is defective or the firmware is faulty.

Thanks for your support!

1. For me pressing zoom button on remote I get: Normal, full screen, stretch to full screen, enlarge, make wider, make taller, cut edges, custom (zoom factor, aspect ratio correction, shift).
2. True. Not sure what happened to this setting. I will email Dune.
3. The power on behaviour can be defined at Setup - Miscellaneous - Power Management.
4. Please give more info about the file (mediainfo). Realbox 4K uses a different chipset to the players you list so details of format support will be different.

Hi,

thank you for your very fast answer.
1.) I have the same possibilities, but no one has an effect to the picture (only "make wider" and "make taller")
3.) Power on behavier -> I know these settings, but they have no effekt (every time "full" booting, not to "Standby" after switching on the wireless socket)
4.) Format            : BDAV at 21,9 Mb/s
Length            : 3,24 GiB for 21 min 9s 131 ms
Video #0          : AVC at 19,5 Mb/s
Aspect            :  x  ()
Audio #0          : PCM at 1 536 kb/s
Infos             : 2 Kanäle, 48,0 kHz

I do have a problem with my brandnew Dune HD realbox 4k (RTD 1395, model: TV-175x, fw: 200907_2332_r14).

I cannot setup a connection to my Asustor NAS via samba. I found this user manual:
https://dune-hd.com/media/QSG/Dune_HD_DUO_4K_User_Manual.pdf ,
and followed the instructions on page 12. So - as far as I understand - the problem is, that I need to set a folder called "Media", but it saves it in small letters. I.e., when I use the "Pop Up Menu" button and select "info" it always shows me this: "media". But the first letter must be a capital letter!

I really tried everything:
  • to write it with the remote control
  • to write it with the remote control AND entering the virtual keyboard before
  • I do have an Orbsmart-like mini keyboard, and used it to fill up everything, but the same result

The same holds for the item "server name", everything is saved in small letters, but I set it up in camel-toe style ("XxxMediaCenter").

So, this is probably a bug?!

UPDATE:

I tried to connect via UPnP and it worked! That is strange!

But still no connection via smb. I also tried different samba settings of my NAS. Did not worked!

I also created a new folder on my NAS called "test", AND a new user named "test" even with a password only with small letters, so everything is in small letters. No, no chance! Did not work either! What the hell is going on here?!

OMG, I am so stupid! I mistaken the items "server" and "name"!

The item "name" has to contain the name of the server e.g. "MyMediaSever", whereas the item "server" has to contain the ip address, e.g. "192.168.100.25".

After I changed the setting on my dune box it finally worked!
Sorry!

when I start any android app or want to setup the android environment the screen is not completely visible, but it is somewhat cropped.

Here is an example of the chrome browser:

How can I change that?

I do have another question. Right beside the front display there is a blue led which is just too bright. Is it possible to turn it off?

I mean, I do not understand why one needs that led at all? The display shows everything that is neccessary!

Hi,
if these things are individual problems of my Realbox only, get I a RMA-Number to send back for replacement, or how are the next steps?
Thanks!

1. It must be something to do with the particular video. I get all working options. What aspect is the video? What format?
2. The power settings presume the box has been left in standby. The box does not allow you to change power on behaviour from power on. If you want this feature adding I suggest support@dune-hd.com
4. From the info you supply it looks like it should play. If you want to send a short sample I can test it here.

Probably a problem with your TV settings.

Either:

Disable overscan in TV settings for the HDMI port the Dune is plugged into.

Or, possibly, the Dune is outputting in RGB mode when it should be YCbCr (caused by the EDID for your TV indicating that it is a monitor). In Dune settings go System - Developer options - Video Color Mode - Choose one of the YCbCr modes. Also change System - Developer options - HDMI Range Mode to 'Limited range'.

Hi,

1. The zoom function does not work with any of my videos (m2ts, wmv, mp4 ...), so I am assuming a defect.
2. With the delivery firmware (200907) boot to standby worked fine like all my Dune players, after updating to 200910 it no longer worked. 200907 will not displayed any more in the firmware section, so I can't downgrade for testing.
4. Unfortunately I don't have a short sample, I will think of another solution

Yes, you are in deed right! I had to change my TV settings from "16:9" to "dot-by-dot".
Thanks!
