Hi Olivier and Nice Monkey,

4 days ago I asked you and nice monkey about the A11....compared to A10 and A5. Will post my first impressions here as this has nothing to do with the A11...sure you will read my remarcks here.

I bought me a A10 saturday  (so 2 days ago) and have been testing / playing with it since then. Android is very very different when one is used to a Windows 10 MPC.

Now what I think of the A10 ?. Bluraymenu and 3Diso Playbackin the internal player  are perfect and that will be the reason why I will keep an Egreat.
Nice Monkey...you are right...for kodi-users this i.m.o. is not the best. The Vidon clone is based on Kodi 16 so  some of my IPTV app's just don't work. And I like the picture of Kodi 17.4 on my Minix NGC-1 much much better.  But what really bothers me is that when using either Vidon or Kodi 17.4 on the Egreat I get constant loud hisses in the sound. Also: playback is not smooth....after 10 minutes I get stutters. Either when playing my own files or when using Covenant in Kodi. I not have that when I use  kodi  on my Minix pc. So you two have any ideas aout what I am doing wrong.

I have about 5000 movie-files and when I open Kodi on my Minix all the posters come in about 20 seconds. Managed to get the posters app in the Egreat internal player working but every time I start it up my movies are gone and it starts looking for them....takes about 90 minutes before they there. Is that normal ?

I am not giving up on it yet though and that is why I write to you.  Perhaps I am doing something wrong. But at present I prefer my Minix NGC-1....it is faster...easier to use on a daily bases.

Looking forward hearing from you

I am not a KODI (or derivate) user and can hardly help I am afraid. As I said before Android is not the best OS for KODI which is a kind of OS by itself duplicating most functions making it slower to run and restrictive in multiple ways. So your findings are not a real surprise to me.

Using myself Android based Media Players with native player support tuned for the hardware it is running on instead. This makes them superior to universal KODI for my needs. Only the more expensive players offer stock players for all type of media next to some bundled Androids APP's including KODI adopted for the HW SOC.

@bolkebear59
Try this open Kodi make export library in separate files, then EgreatPoster will load 5000 movie in 2-3 minutes, first scan can take up to 1-2 hours until Egreat poster 2.0 library is rebuilding.

Thanks...will try that...if no change....then .....

I like the picture quality and the 3Diso playback so I am keeping Egreat but just for this. All my ISO3D and files with menus are on three separate harddiscs so if no change I will connect these three to Egreat and the rest stays connected to the Minix. Think by doing this I can look all without all the time trying to  make it work.
Thanks for you help

hello bolkebear59,

I am surprised that you have problems of image and sound with vidon,

just for to be sure, as you choose ''vidon hdmi'' in the options ''passthrough output device''

---------------------

you can follow this procedure, often it solves the problems

Hello bolkebear59,

As all boxes android there are bugs but in this case, i think you go a little fast in your conclusions.

it is one of the box that is the most stable and that plays all the videos properly.

there are 2 possibilities:

You've been had with your great deal...

or

The problem comes from you.

See you
