Hello!

The FAQ states that NFS with Wrapper is supported up from FW 2.0.1. So on 2.0.6 I don't have do the playercorefactory.xml modification or any other tricks at all? KODI will call the HIMedia Player automatically in the case of NFS shared videos?

The NFS / playercorefactory.xml questions in the FAQ were a mess, thanks for pointing that out.

I have removed all of them. NFS should play normally using wrapper without any additional setup. Tested with 2.0.8.

I have a Q10 pro , when using the wrapper is there a way to set the default to subtitles off?

I think you can configure the wrapper once and it should retain those settings. This means you should be able to disable subtitles by default.
Riddle me this, riddle me that

Nope,  subtitles come back on by default after standby.

Quite irritating as I never want to see subtitles.

Found the issue I was missing , under Sub settings , as well as setting sub switching to close  you also need to set default switch to close.

There is no Default Switch to Close option in official firmware 2.0.7. Has this option been added in firmware 2.0.8/2.0.9?

I am running the latest custom firmware, so maybe , wouldn't the wrapper be seperate from the firmware though? Dunno.

Sub switching and Default Switch are mess in original HiMediaVideoPlayer from OFW 2.0.7/2.0.8/2.0.9 try set Android language to English UK or others language then English US and check if both become available when video play on menu/subtitle.  CFW have mod HiMediaVideoPlayer where Default Switch is available in any language. Other options is to extract HiMediaVideoPlayer.apk from corresponding CFW  2.0.7/2.0.8/2.0.9 and install on your box as normal apk.

I had the Himedia Q10 that I bought 3 years ago

How much difference between Q10 and Q10 Pro

If I play 4K HDR File, can I play it as normal 4K File without having adjust my projector settings ?   I have Oppo  203 now and can use the strip metadata feature and that works for that

Does the Q10 Pro use the same Video Chip as  Q10 model ?

Will external hard drives of 8-16 TB work with Q10 Pro ?

Q10 Pro supports HDR > SDR.

It has a different SOC, but it's an evolution. Same manufacturer, HiSilicon. PQ is very similar to Q10 4K3D/quad.

Up to 10TB drives definitely work. Larger probably work but I know of no testing.

Changing the Android language did not help.

In your CFW, there is the Default Subtitle Off switch. Very cool!

But honestly, I can't understand why you have to install a Custom Firmware on a Media Player to switch off subtitles. Really, I just can't understand it.
