I'm having difficulties knowing if this patch is installed correctly.
Does this even work with Android 7 and Kodi 16.1 ?

Because when I play a video with 25fps I get a notification of Hi-Frequency that it changed the framerate to 50hz.
However my tv still displays as 1080p/60hz. Same goes for 23,976fps movies. And I still have some slight stutters every 20 minutes or so.

I have done step 2 also since I'm running Android 7.

So I tried both ways. With and without the workaround for Android 7.
Still the same issue. My TV display keeps telling me it's 1080p/60p while Hi-frequency switcher gives a notification that it has changed the framerate.
But it still stutters once in a while (frame drops).
When using the wrapper with the same movie the TV displays 1080p/25p.
And it plays the movie good with no stuttering.
It drives me crazy that I can't get the internal Kodi player to work correctly.

It sounds like you have the Kodi add-on installed correctly but not the extra step 2 patch for Android 7.

Are you sure you installed the patch correctly from a PC? I suggest trying it again.

So I have the repo installed then I do this:

- Execute RUN_ME.bat at command prompt
- Insert Q5/Q10 Pro IP address

-Press enter after IP address I assume
-I don't pick any of the options given by the workaround
-I install the addon and do the rest.

Also have tried using the command to install the addon which worked. I can see that it reboots the player.
But the  TV display stays at 60p. Where Hi-Frequency notifies me that it has changed the framerate.

Can someone explain the below for me?

Step 5:
- use button "Copy default Map Keys" to enable suggested buttons map for better kodi experince
- use "players" button to enable playerback with kodi(dvdplayer) internal player for 2D video.

Thanks in advance.

Ok so I finally managed to install the workaround correctly. And the TV display switches correctly to the refresh rate of HF switcher.
However I watched 3 25fps episodes of a serie and they all had at some point stuttering (very slow video frames) until I rewinded back a few seconds. Then it plays the rest of the episode good. When I don't rewind or pause it stays stuttering the whole time. Any ideas?

@mox123: you need to start the HF switcher addon. There are these options.

I see, thanks.

Anyway, I believed this HF switcher is not applicable to plasma TV, right? I did install and turn it on but found stuttering problem....

Installed it successfully; but only seems to work on SD files. When playing HD files, TV screen goes blank and I can't do anything beyond that; need to restart my Q10.
Running android 5.1, Kodi 17. Box is set to 1080p, 60Hz.

Hmm Kodi 17, did you use test-builds  "shitty"?  Not other Kodi 17 build support by add-on.

Hi,
I am using Kodi 17 official build from Play Store. My issue is stuttering when using Kodi internal player, and I am hoping this autoframerate addon will fix it, but it doesn't work with HD streams because my screen goes blank. With SD streams, the screen goes blank for one second and then comes back on with the autoframerate running (notification on). But with HD, it goes blank and never comes back alive.
Sorry I didn't understand your message......are you recommending I install the "shitty" build instead?

Sorry,
Let's explain again Kodi 17 official build from Play Store / Kodi 17 from download page are not support by this add-on running on HiMedia Q10/Q5 Pro with present Android 5.1.1 f/w. I don't carer if work or not for others until audio problems aren't solved in official/nightlies Kodi 17 build by HiMedia or Kodi Team.
You can choose to give a try  of "shitty" test-builds and see if add-on work proper or not for you, or event better to downgrade to Kodi 16.1.

Hi,

I want to say thanks for this work.  I have recently purchased the Q10 Pro and having replaced Kodi 17 with version 16.1 and following the steps for Android 7 and installing the auto FMT switch 1.01 I can see that playback using Kodi's DVDPlayer is much better than before.  I have many DVD ISO images and like being able to use the DVD menu.

I found a simple way to stop stuttering on my Q10pro Android 7 for 4k60fps and or less content(includes HEVC Main10 profile - 10 bit colour). (Requires 4k tv to support 4k content and the following 4k q10 pro settings:

You can simply do this without extra software, head to settings?more settings?display ?2160p60.
RULE OF THUMB set to highest frame rate with the highest supporting resolution that your tv supports. I know your not matching film director intended frame-rate, but in all fairness we can consciencely perceive 24p fps, but sub-consciencely higher fps is needed when camera pans side to side too quickly. 60fps is a start but 100fps would be ideal for camera panning.

While your in the 1st screen of "More settings" go down to advance settings and try out the colour spectrums: 8bitRGB 4:4:4. ONE THAT HAS ALL 4s is maximum colour. Next is finding content to provide this colour.

does anybody can confirm that autofmt switch works with the newest 2.0.3 test firmware ? I just can't get it to work. I had no problems with 2.0.1
