Yes I may give Android TV a try as this latest firmware seems to give me more grain even after I have disabled imperex which I don't like "on". I had to go into the media player to disable imperex.

Hello,

Thank you for your work @pcristi.

I tested the firmware update_Q5Pro(CFW-Lite[MStyle])-HMD-2.1.7 2020-12-04.154037, and on Kodi the Option menu doesn't work during video playback.

No button on the remote control triggers this menu ...

I came back on update_Q5Pro_(Lite-CFW)-HMD-2.1.4 2019-09-11.161658.

CFW-Lite[MStyle] is closer as possible to OFW v2.1.7 for keep compatibility with HiMedia additional patch.
Like with OFW on Kodi need manually disable joystick support(add-on) to get button Menu working.

Hello.
Thank you, the menu works. It's not the same but it works.

On the other hand, with the same settings KODI is slow and the audio output only works in PCM ....
It's really weird because with the firmware update_Q5Pro_ (Lite-CFW) -HMD-2.1.4 2019-09-11.161658 without doing anything everything is ok ...

CFW-Lite[MStyle] not intend to be Lite-CFW, but OK some more pick from a second one.
If you are still on CFW-Lite[MStyle] please redownload and do update from Menu then let's as know if Kodi output only PCM.
Remember to check Kodi settings on expert mode is passthrough is enable or if use wrapper if that is default player.
If use HiMedia additional patch to get Google apps give time up to 30 minutes after reboot to get apps updated in background on that time box are rely slow.

Thanks for the hard work on this custom firmware! I'm using Android TV version currently and really enjoying :D

I have one question however. I would like to use the Chromecast option as it seems to be built-in? At least that's what the popup is telling me. When I use my phone (Oneplus 8 Pro) and try to connect, immediately a popup is shown telling me the connection has been lost.

- I've tried Chromecast at a friends place and there it works, so it seems my phone is ok and it's related to the box. - I've also updated Chromecast to the latest version (from 1.50 to 1.52), without any result.

Any other ideas? Can it work, or am I looking for something that's not there? Anybody using it?

Chromecast streaming working on official certificated Android TV devices witch is not case for HiMedia Q series with CFW ATV.
Some apps like YouTube Vanced/Netflix TV use Chromecast as remote control then maybe will work on uncertificated Android TV device.

Hi, I have FW - update_Q10Pro_(update&themed&Kodi18.2)[v1.1]-HMD-2.1.7 2020-08-18.140128, but I have a problem with NETFLIX, I don't have 5.1 sound, only the stereo is fine. I'm connected and set up, I'm fine.  How to fix it please? I've been trying different FWs all day, and I can't fix it.  :(

It worked fine for me a few days ago. But probably google updated something, and then it stopped working, so I tried FW but it didn't help, I originally had CFW 2.1.6.

Please recommend me a FW that is fine with NETFLIX. well thank you.

Check if on Setting/Advance/Display/HDCP switch is set and reboot box.
Maybe DRM Info will report back to L1 level.

Hi pcristi, about latest cfw lite mstyle I tried to customize system apps slider by edit /system/etc/launcher/launcher*.xml. I succeeded in copying, editing and replacing the 3 xml files using adb on elevated windows cmd but after reboot I got an error message once about menu configuration and nothing changed. I changed it to move the kodi part to be at the first position in the xml. Did you tried to change the launcher xml's and was it successful?

Yes with success as original CN xml not have Kodi and Power Menu(minix power selector).
Use Notepad++ for edit to preserve encoding UTF-8 without BOM.
Clear data from Settings/Advance/Apps/Show system for Launcher to get read(use) of new xml.

LE:
ADB Kits (1364 KB)
unpack adb.zip to C:\adb
Open command prompt

cd /d C:\adb
adb connect <ip_player>:5555
root
adb connect <ip_player>:5555
adb remount
adb pull /system/etc/launcher/launcher_card.xml
adb pull /system/etc/launcher/launcher_custom.xml
adb pull /system/etc/launcher/launcher_dark.xml

<------------  do wanted edit on Notepad++ for xml files ----------------->

adb push launcher_card.xml  /system/etc/launcher/launcher_card.xml
adb push launcher_custom.xml  /system/etc/launcher/launcher_custom.xml
adb push launcher_dark.xml  /system/etc/launcher/launcher_dark.xml
adb shell rm -R /data/data/com.himedia.launchermstyle
adb reboot
