I have a problem with the latest custom - Kodi keep crashing many times - i have 2 external HDDs attached and when i go to HHD2 i see the covers but can't start the movie. Kodi crashes and i have the option to restart.

Is this a problem with HDDs? Would the patch "mount storage" solve that probably?

This Kodi crashing happened to me several times, because I restored a previous Kodi 17.6 backup, in order to save time while reinstalling all addons.
I uninstalled Kodi completely, and I reinstalled from this forum Kodi 18.3, and is working perfectly, but I had to reinstall addons and settings manually.

Hi im running2.0.9 2018-07-10.preesently. i have manually been  using an Apk to load kodi as 17.6 due to the nemerous crashes that i was experiencing with leia 18.1 and 2. Are you suggesting that the crashing problems appear to be fixed with kodi 18.3  which I wasnt until now aware until now had been released  ;)

Thks

Edit sorry unable to get quotes correct. Maybe a mod could fix for me. Apologies / thks

Cheers guys, I also get freezes/crashes a lot on cfw 214, this hardly happened on cfw211. I have disabled battery optimisation on these apps that crashes i.e vpnapp, kodi and flud but still crashes after a while.

My theory is cfw214 uses more RAM than cfw211 thus lead to overheat of the box and hence app freezes/crashes..

What do you guys think?

On another note, if I were to go back to cfw211, how can I get media server in kodi like in cfw214?

And finally does anyone know how to access the folders in Android/data/,,, in the MediaCenter?

Many thanks.

I'm having a problem with the custom firmware which is not present with original firmware. After using the wrapper and exiting the himedia player I get no stereo sound in kodi interface. If I then try to play a trailer I get no sound. This does not happen with the stock firmware. Pcristi can you please look into this?

Some of as have little paranoia about virus reports event know are false positive.
So mod version of OpenBlurayMode.apk start to be reported as Windows/Android/AdLibrary virus for avoid that please download update_fix_false_positive_report_OpenBlurayMode.zip rename to update.zip then apply from Settings/Upgrade/Local upgrade/....

Thanks to the users who reported.

Note: Can apply to any version of ATV/CFW/CS-AK/haovh_85/MadAndron/moere22/RiCo97 FW.

Hi everyone,
I'm with Q10 Pro, on CFW 2.1.4, and for the FIRST time so far since having this great media player,
while playing a series, stereo sound on kodi+wrapper,  I have NO SOUND,
while I switch and press options and choose "video player" - kodi player though - everything is fine and sound plays with no problem.
MEDIAINFO about this movie (mkv) is:
Audio: English, 202 kbps, 48.0 kHz, 6 channels, Opus.
Video: 1002 kbps, 1920x1080 (16:9), at 23.976 (24000/1001) FPS, HEVC (Main 10@L5.1@Main).
Any ideas?
Cheers.

WIFI again.... firmware 2.1.4, reinstalled firmware 2X using the toothpick in reset hole.

Impossible to disable wifi in settings, it shows only disconnected but all the access points are shown, that means the wifi is on and scanning, just not connected to an access point.

When disable the wifi in android setting-setting-wifi, the wifi always switches itself back on to scan wifi access points.

Network icon shows disconnected, and when opening this the wifi also switches on the wifi in the android settings.

Rebooting the device switches the wifi back on automatically by itself.

Really????

Have to now go back to 2.1.1 and hope wifi will stay off again.

All other cheap android devices the wifi is able to be switched off and stay off, himedia quality more expensive device seems impossible to achieve this simple function, really strange.

Install with paper clip and never open HiMedia Settings/Network, use inside of that HiMedia Settings/More/Ethernet(WiFi) then WiFi will be keep OFF.
In unlucky case when user touch HiMedia Settings/Network WiFi will be always trigger ON.

@pcristi

Which version of Kodi do you recommend for your CFW (latest version) ?

I am currently on 18.2 but it's a complete disaster and keeps crashing. Shall I use 18.3 or give the 18.4 nightly try?
