Good morning

To update from Android 5.1 firmware 1.0.7 or later you first update to Android 7 firmware 2.0.4 official and then to any later firmware (at time of writing - i.e. up to 2.0.5 or 2.0.6 official or custom). You need only two steps.

The long update process you list is unnecessary and will make no difference to the problem you describe in the linked post.

Your network access problem is an incompatibility between Android 7 media center on Q10 Pro and your NAS. We've been through this in email, but the solution is going to be a fixed IP address for the NAS and entering share details manually in Q10 Pro media center. Or a change somwhere in your NAS settings, of which I am not familiar.

I connected HiMedia and the PC containing the multimedia files on the network, and both have the value of I.P. fixed.
At this point I do not know what other solution is possible, I have made many attempts.

A greeting

With Android 7 and v. 2.0.6 the bluetooth does not working fine. The distance for working is very short (no more than a couple of yards) and the apps crashs after very few minutes.

Thanks anyway.

FINALLY AFTER A LONG TIME I HAVE SUCCESSFUL TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM  :D

For some years I had a PC shared on the network with all HDD containing multimedia files, as in the example of this screen:

This configuration has always worked with both the MEDE8ER player and the HiMedia Q10 (Android 5.1).
When I upgraded the HiMedia to the new firmware with Andoid 7, both the access to the folders and the internal player (HiMedia videoplayer) did not start, but when I downgraded to Android 5.1 everything worked smoothly.
Honestly this was a situation that I could not explain, taking time to understand the cause.

During the tests I had to rename only the main folders of all HDDs eliminating the blanks with "_" like this screen:

Immediately I had access to the subfolders and the player (Himedia Videoplayer) works regularly.
This shows that Android 7 requires a different syntax, without empty spaces, from the previous version.

A greeting

Quick question for anyone.

The android TV custom firmware that is also available to install, does that include the 5.1 audio fix for Kodi or is it only this custom firmware that has the fix.

Cheers.

@DMD: I have movies named with spaces and without spaces and I am on CFW 2.0.6. What I think it may cause issues is that you have named the movies in Italian and sometimes in Italian and English. It is better to name them in English. Actually there is a Kodi naming suggestion here http://kodi.wiki/view/Naming_video_files/Movies. You can configure Kodi to show the information in Italian, I think.

I see another issue. Movies like Alien should be named Alien.1979, without 1 or any other number that does not quite have anything to do with it. Just like Star
Wars 1 1977 would most likely not be recognized as Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope from 1977.

It may matter if the scrapper is not configured properly to think that the movies are in "Movies are in separate folders that match the movie title" (also taken from the Kodi naming scheme). It may be related to Kodi 17 rather than to the actual Nougat firmware. I do not know what Kodi version you had on the 1.0.x firmware (most likely Kodi 16.x).

The problem is not in the subfolders of films that can be written with or without spaces or as you want, but it is in the main folder of the HDD, this is to be written without spaces.
It is not a problem of Italian language and it is not a problem of Kodi, which does not hit anything, since the problem was also evident in HiMedia's MediaCenter.

Good morning.
I noticed that the remote menu button does not work with kodi, in the rest of the other apps it works. (fwc 2.0.6)
Using the Rii MX3 remote control, the menu button works regularly with Kodi.
Has anyone detected this problem?

Thank you

From FAQ:

Since I upgraded, problems have arisen, but they have been resolved a little at a time
Another problem that I found, this also applies to the official fw, and the problem of reproducing the 16: 9 aspect ratio in the 720x576 resolution, a problem known as reported in this post: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=2576.0
I hope this "bug" is solved as soon as possible I have a lot of movies with those features.

Thank you

When the new CF based on 2.0.7 will be out (no hurry), will it be possible to upgrade from previous version(s) without loosing all the settings?
Or is a  fresh "reset"button upgrade" required?

@Flash3d: yes, I think it can be done, especially since you are on CFW 2.0.6.
