Like the previous version of Q10, this new Q10Pro seem to suffer the HDMI-CEC issue. Using the cable that came with the box, and connected to my YAMAHA RX-V573, the CEC was not working: so I have to switch on by ist own remote each device (TV-AMPLI-Q10Pro)
No fixed here; Have I to buy an adaptor or HDMI pin 13 fix (remove or avoiding contact with connector)

+1
I can confirm this, ever since I received my Q10 Pro all my homecinema and TV HDMI connections have gone crazy, either HDMI CEC is not working, or TV turns on homecinema receiver but it doesn't turn it off nor changes automatically between inputs, before it was working flawlessly .

Incredible, I think I am the only one with the opposite issue.

My Hdmi-Cec functions work only when my Q10 is powered on.
When I turn it off all the functions stop working.

I have an LG E6 Oled tv and  a yamaha AVR (RX-781).

It's been re-reported to HiMedia as aggressively as I am able.

I know it's not a proper solution but the problem can be overcome either by a no-CEC HDMI adapter or blocking HDMI pin 13.
Honestly the box should be shipped with a HDMI-CEC Blocker in the box till the problem is solved.  :-[

Source for problems when powered off are well known: Most designers forgot that HDMI-CEC is a bus type of protocol. Even a very small current (specified specifically within the standard) drawn on Pin-13 may pull down the signal on the common bus. Some or all devices on that common bus may be affected by this. This is the reason some have problems and others don't.

With power-on it depend on the actual communication on the bus and HDMI-CEC features being used. All Android implementations I have seen thus far are flawed, but some boxes at least can disable HDMI-CEC in a correct way and even fewer got some features implemented correctly.

Hi,

I have just purchased the HiMedia Q10 Pro but having an HDMI communication issue between my TV and AV amp when watching a TV broadcast, but only when the Q10 is connected with the HDMI lead to either my AV amp or to the spare HDMI socket on my TV.  Everything works fine without the Q10 connected but as soon as I connect the Q10 Pro, within a few seconds the audio is cut off from the AV amp and comes from the TV's own built in amp instead which obviously I do not want.  The TV displays a message to the effect that there is a communication error.   I have a Sony Bravia KD55XD9305 TV and a Yamaha RX-V479  amp which all works fine with my PS4, Wii U, Samsung Blu-ray player, an aging Asus media player and an ageing Panasonic DVD/HDD combo unit.  I have disconnected the Asus player in favour of just using the new HiMedia Q10 Pro, but this audio issue is very annoying.   Have tried different HDMI leads to no avail.  For some reason, the Q10 is causing a communication problem between my TV and AV amp when watching a live broadcast. If I use any of the other connected devices there is no issue.   I have made sure that I'm using the ARC mode on both TV and amp which is why I can listen to TV broadcasts with the audio nicely routed to the AV amp.  The AV amp supports 4k ultraHD and HDCP 2.2

When using the Q10 connected to my AV amp I can play my videos and have no issues with the audio from my AV amp.  Does anybody know what the issue might be?  If I cannot solve this I don't think I can keep the Q10 Pro  :(

Thanks in advance.

This is a long running problem with CEC/ARC and Q5/Q10 Pro. See here: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1541.0

It's been reported as a bug many times but it appears difficult to resolve. The workaround solution is a CEC blocker adapter or cutting pin 13 of the HDMI cable.

Hi,

Thanks for the speedy reply and buying a HDMI CEC Less Adapter, Female to Male seems to be the simplest option.  I did not expect this issue any maybe one of these adaptors should be included in the box?  Thanks again for the help.

Found another and cheaper (interim) solution to removing pin 13 from an HDMI cable or getting the specific Lindy non-CEC adaptor (which I found rather expensive).
This was detailed on another Android media player forum I found.... (can't recall which one).

It is to buy two very cheap HDMI/DVI adaptors (specifically HDMI Male plug to DVI Female socket + DVI Male plug to HDMI Female socket) and screw the two DVI ends into each other.  This gives a single HDMI male to HDMI female unit that can be plugged into the HiMedia and to the standard cable.
DVI standard has no CEC so there is no transmission or interference anymore.

My ARC from TV to AVR now works as it did before  :)

If the Q10 Pro is connected to my TV Panasonic, this TV is unable to use ARC link to the 5.1 BR Player/amplifier.
On the TV screen i can read to check the device (Q10 Pro) setting.
If I want to use 5.1 I must disconnect the HDMI cable of Q10 Pro, switch on TV with the ampli and when ARC is present, at last I can reconnect Q10 Pro.

I connected several devices to my TV. This is the first time there is this problem.

I am using the Q5 Pro and had the same problem with ARC. I disabled pin 13 on the HDMI input lead to the Q5 and now ARC works as it should do.
