This has been covered lots of times.

You need one of these:

Tks, So the problem is CEC protocol.
No chance to disable it via "future" switch in the setting of Q10 Pro?

Hi all,
I have a strange problem with my new HiMedia Q10.

Equipment:
  • Sony BRAVIA KDL-60W605
    Sony HT-XT2 Soundbar
    Dreambox 7080HD sat-receiver
    HiMedia Q10

TV, receiver & soundbar work perfectly together. When I take the HDMI cable of the Himedia Q10 and put it while watching TV into the Sony BRAVIA, the soundsystem crashes. The TV displays a message, that there is a communication error and that from now on the TV speakers are used for the sound. The HiMedia Q10 works with the Sony HT-XT2 soundbar, TV & receiver only work with the soundbar when I plug off the HDMI of the HiMedia Q10.

Any advise how to solve this issue?

Just to inform you: I upgraded to firmware version 2.0.4. straight after getting the Q10. MAybe a misstake, because I read the Android 7 version does have some more Audio problems than the Android 5 version.

Although you have not said it, I would assume that this is an ARC problem. The Q5, and presumably Q10, have an ARC problem and the only solution at this time is to disconnect pin 13 in the HDMI plug into the Q5/Q10

Oh it's just that again. I thought it has been resolved since. Himedia/(or at least) Futeko should really ship the Box with a CEC less HDMI cable or adapter included.

Blocking pin 13 or using a CEC blocking HDMI adapter is the solution, as mentioned already.

HiMedia have tried to fix this, and there are reports in the 2.0.3 and later firmware threads of the fix being successful for some users, but it seems to keep coming back for some users / setups. I will add it again to the 2.0.4 bug list and send to HiMedia.

I've also added it to the FAQ to try and avoid multiple threads.

Q10 Pro interfering with HDMI CEC/ARC?

Q10 Pro CEC should be disabled in FW 2.0.3 and later. However, some users still report problems with Q10 Pro interfering with CEC/ARC signals.

If this is the case you can either get a CEC stripping HDMI adapter or manually block pin 13 on the HDMI cable.

Hello!

Is there an option for a HDMI 2.0 CEC-less adapter? The one suggested here is compatible with HDMI 1.4 only. :https://www.lindy.co.uk/cables-adapters-c1/audio-video-c107/hdmi-cec-less-adapter-female-to-male-p7299

Anyone has a link for a working HDMI 2.0 CEC-less adapter?

Thanks you!

No replies?

I have received that information, that the Q10 Pro/ Q5 Pro still have the CEC/ARC issue when in standby or turned off.

The pinout of hdmi 2.0 is the same, where did you get the information that the adapter is 1.4 compatible only?

Well, do you think it's also 2.0 compatible? I had a closer look, but neither it mentioned if it's 2.0 or just 1.4, not even on Amazon...https://www.amazon.com/Lindy-HDMI-Adapter-Female-41232/product-reviews/B00DL48KVI/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_show_all?pageNumber=1&reviewerType=all_reviews I'm better being cautious...

The cable pinout is the same, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. The only thing the adapter does is "disconnect" one pin.
