Subtitles download in Himedia video player?
« on: April 21, 2016, 10:12:36 AM »
Is it possible to implement subtitles download in Himedia video player?

To be similar to BS player for example, download from 3 websites.

It would require a lot of work to add it to HiMedia player.

I think what is more likely to happen is support for Q5/Q10 Pro is integrated into Kodi so you can use Kodi's subtitle download options / add-ons.

One vote more for integration within Media Centre. Very simple to use in practice and great for the customer/user, but agreed a bit more complex to implement.

KODI is not simple for users.

Not in HiMedia app.

In Kodi, yes.

i'm wrong
It was this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NAxOv3KvZU

There you have a thing "search subtitles"
it has same chipset..
mmm

Dont think it will be able to download.
Anyway. if himedia's q10 pro will have full kodi support without wrapper, it would rock

That product uses the same chipset as HiMedia M3. It's a 2014 HiSilicon chipset.

Interesting that it has similar media player app but better interface. I guess the manufacturer has added those options. Personally I'd prefer HiMedia to work on Kodi, it will be impossible for HiMedia (or any manufacturer) to beat Kodi's subtitle support so better to get Kodi working as well as possible.

it's Hisilicon Hi3798C V200 stock/SDK player APP , there is also into Q10 pro , it's very very basic...
You can try: open app file manager like x-plorer/es explorer and select open with -> there is two player app himedia.video and hisilicon.video

Any posibilities to have KODI download the subtitles somehow before launching it with the wrapper? (like launch it first without wrapper so it downloads the subtitles and then launch it when the subs are installed?)

yes , you can:
- install keymap editor add-on program
- edit keymap and set "Switch player" to button 0  (zero) for esample
- now go video
- select "play with" -> DvDplayer
- download the subtitles
- press zero button -> so wrapper start

Excellent tip that will help many people.

I will add it to the FAQ.

Yes, good hint, thank you.
But the switching with 0 key (for example) doesn't work by me.
I can choose the subtitles after I stop the Kodi and then play the movie with the Wrapper.

I have the same problem. Switching the player is not working.

I have download the keymap editor through the system addons and than edited the playback key that switches player and made sure to save it.

Anything I missed here?
