However, when I play the Kodi, I still cannot get the Kodi resolution to 4K at the Setting/System even though I set the display to 2160P at Q10 display settings. Any idea how I can change the resolution in Kodi.

Isn't the kodi gui limited to 1080?

Hi3798MV200 is on Q30.
Q5/Q10 Pro not use this SoC, but from past experience HiSilicon SDK maybe is was release for both SoC Hi3798MV200 /Hi3798CV200.

I may not have searched right, and I know I'm not the only person with this problem, but I didn't find an actual solution.  I've noticed that it is very hard to manage a Google account on the Q10.  Issues I've encountered, where the only solution I've found is to do a factory reset is:

- When doing a fresh install or firmware reset, one of the first things I need to do is turn on Wi-fi and immediately open Google Play to log in and establish my Google Account.  If I wait a few minutes, and Google Play automatically updates, there is no way to log in.  When I go into "Settings" and Accounts, nothing happens when I try to add an account.

- Today, I decided to change my Google Password.  When I turned on the Q10 I wasn't prompted to re-sign in like I was with my phone.  I opened Google Play Store and it properly said I needed to re-sign in but didn't give me an option to do so.  Likewise, going into settings and accounts, there was no option to sign in again.  I bit the bullet and deleted the Google Account only to find myself in the above situation again...unable to add the account back.

- I tried disabling Google Play Store to uninstall previous updates, and that didn't work.  I ended up resetting...again...and having to set my box up again from scratch.  A waste of time and frustrating.  Is there another way to do this without a reset?  Am I missing something?  Thanks.

Try this (from FAQ)
"Settings - More - Apps - Google Play services - Storage - CLEAR CACHE. Now run Play Store and you can add a new Google account"

If/when I have the issue again, I'll try this, but for some reason I think I did...although it may have only been for Google Play Store and not for Play Services.

Hi, I am wondering if I have to upgrade my Q10Pro.

The current Android version = 5.1.1 with kernel version 3.18.24

The build number = HMD-1.1.0  2017-03-15.164418

Is it the best way to upgrade to Android version 7 or stay with Android 5.1.1.?

The main bug for me is the 3d iso not playing back at 23.976fps.

Another severe firmware bug:

No DTS-HD High Resolution audio tracks anymore, on any new AV-Receiver, or older AV-Receivers with the DTS update.

I rarely visit this forum, I am afraid to read about detected errors in Himedia Q10 "Pro.blem" Bravo Himedia for "great" support in the firmware. Luckily, CFW 2.04 does not do major problems.

Issues found with new 2.0.9 firmware:
  • Occasional crashing of the launcher 3d
  • Video pauses mid-play and cannot be continued unless exited and restarted
  • Other OS components crashing mid-playback (inside Kodi)
  • Unable to send audio to a Bluetooth speaker
  • If box shutdown or powering on is attempted while TV (and hdmi) is off, box will be stuck on boot or shutdown process. This issue appeared on previous 2.x.x firmware versions as well
  • Wrapper times out if Kodi is left running with no video playing back for around 30 minutes or more. Then, when trying to play video, a black screen will appear and the wrapper player will not "kick in". Normal kodi playback engine will still work fine, and the wrapper will wake up some long minutes later - popping back to play without warning. This issue appeared on previous 2.x.x firmware versions as well

Anyone else encountered these issues?

I mostly regret switching to the new Android 7 firmware, and am considering a downgrade. The only thing stopping me is the need to re-create my library and re-install all the add-ons. I know there is an option for backup but it is far from perfect.
