2.0.9 issues:

1. noticed stutter and image artifacts in HD tv episodes which did not happen in previous firmware releases.
2. subtitle bug still requires you to play using kodi video player in order to make use of subtitles add-ons (internal subtitle download finds nothing)
3. a few live tv programs crash upon start (works fine on android phone)

I have several BD ISO images (2D) wich don't play smoothly. Its rather a quick slideshow. Any ideas what it could be. FW 2.0.9, but lasted for several FWs already.
Any Ideas?
Maybe this si not the right place to place thoughts, but nevertheless...
I just set up a cheap HP Notebook with I5 processorfor a friend with Win10 and Kodi 17.6, wich plays everything smoothly. Due to the ongoing small problems again and again and constantly meaningless FW updates for Q10, i'm considering to replace the Q10 by a Intel NUC with I7 processor meanwhile. I have already one with a I3 processor running as a music server very sucessfully.

Have you tried OFW 2.0.6? Maybe there's LAN bandwidth insufficiency, have you tried the same iso's directly from USB?

An i7 is an overshoot for video playback, all that counts is the IGP, the CPU makes no difference.

Thanks for the hints. I always play videos from a local USB hard drive. I never use network playback.

I will receive a Intel NUC7I7BNH Baby NUC-Kit today. I know those already and they run well and silent. I want just to use the thing instead of struggling with device problems constantly wich will be hardly solved by developpers. Beside that, i don't like this Andriod crap OS anyway. Its a toy OS for Smartphones only to my opinion. After each FW update i have to reconfigure the whole thing, because setting backups never work too (see former posts). Its a leap back into the Windows 3.11 times. The Q10 will go to the flea market.

Hi guys,

I have just found this website and I see there all updates to download. My Q10 Pro still has 1.0.6 as firmware, can I just download the latest or are there steps in between?

I think there are 3 steps before updating to the latest firmware (2.09).
if I'm not wrong, the sequence should be:

1- Upgrade from 1.06 to 1.07

2- Upgrades from 1.07 to 2.04 (Android 7 migration)  Q10 PRO RUNNING  ANDROID 5.1 FIRMWARE VERSION 1.0.7 - 1.1.0:

3- Upgrade 2.04 to 2.09

@DMD is correct. That is the correct order to upgrade from 1.0.6.

The main bug for me is the 3d iso not playing back at 23.976fps.

Definitely! Blu-ray 3D is UNWATCHABLE on Q5/10 because of the micro stutters.

So I keep on watching the Blu-ray 3D ISOs on my 5 (!) years old laptop, with the integrated Intel HD graphics, and with FREE Kodi/MVC-patch perfectly smooth.

Hi futeko.com

I have been using android version 5.1.1 build number HMD-1.0.9 2016-12-13.091707 all these while until I recently upgraded by TV to 4K. The wrapper than comes with my firmware is not able to play 4K movies with Kodi, output just lines. I tried to upgrade my firmware but failed. I downloaded the version from the himedia support website to upgrade from android L to N and I also downloaded from this website to upgrade to HMD 1.1.0 2017-03-15. Until know I am not able to upgrade the firmware. I downloaded the firmware to a thumbdrive and rename the the zip file to update.zip. I tried both update method
1) using the system menu to update using local update (it will copy to cache and then upon confirmation, android green robot appeared, and installation seemed to be in progress until the end it rebooted) - when checked again on the system was not upgraded, still stuck with the 2016 version.
2) Plug in the thumbdrive, use a pin to press the update button behind the unit and turn on the unit. (Here the android green robot appeared and immediately showed ERROR)

Please advise if my update method is correct
Please advise if upgrading my system to android 7 can resolve my 4K issue. Thanks.

From 1.0.9 the correct update sequence is 2.0.4 > 2.0.9. So I recommend trying to install 2.0.4 first. Instructions here: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=2096.0

Make sure USB drive is formatted as FAT32 and is less than 32GB (preferably 8GB or smaller).

Thank you. I managed to upgrade to 2.0.4. However, when I play the Kodi, I still cannot get the Kodi resolution to 4K at the Setting/System even though I set the display to 2160P at Q10 display settings. Any idea how I can change the resolution in Kodi.

No need and use to set the GUI res to 2160p in KODI, it would be very sluggish, as it needs lots of CPU/GPU power to render it at UHD (this is a KODI obsolescence, but i guess it wouldn't change much even in the next final Leia release). So leave it on 1080p, it's fine.

1. Have you tried playing any of the 4k videos available on YouTube with 'StatsforNerd' switched on?

2. What are you playing on Kodi? Are you sure that they files have been ripped at 4k?

3. What TV do you have?

@yappysh
HiSilicon base box not have 2160p Android UI.
Are just few Android TV box witch have 2160p Android UI. Nvidia Shield TV is one of them.
Why need Android UI on 2160p? Your's usage of box is to see 3840x2160 pictures?
