Good morning
I have seen on the official website: http://www.himediatech.com/support.htm
the Q10 Pro firmware version (Android L to Android N) HMD-2.0.4 2017-07-05.174159
If I have installed version 1.1 (Android 5.1) do not need to install the migration file from 5 to 7, is this correct?

Thank you

It would appear so. We've not tested them yet.

When we've done some testing we'll update our firmware threads and downloads.

Hello, I`m also new here.

But back to the question , YES it upgrades the Q10 from 5.1 to the latest 2.0.4 FW.
That was my first upgrade, I replace it by the custom FW.

Q10 Pro "downgrades" all FLAC 24 bit to 16 bit so.... it's not the best way to listen to HQ music.
Futeko, is that true?

I don't think so.

I'd like to see the evidence to prove it.

That's quite an old post (Oct 2016) running an Android 5.1 firmware and replying on a diagnostics app running on Q10 Pro for results.

I honestly don't know whether this is true or not in most recent firmware. The AVR hardware we have here reports sampling frequency but not bit depth.

What is needed is someone with a capable AVR or other measuring device to test what is actually coming down the HDMI cable.

On official HiMedia website, in support, I saw Q10 Pro (Android L to Android N) HMD-2.0.4 2017-07-05.174159.
It's really working? What about upgrade first  2.01, next 2.03 and after 2.04?

I tried to use HMD-2.0.1 2017-01-10.164949 to update from 1.0.9 to 2.0.1 however I received an error! android logo. Anyway I can fix this issue?

edit: It now shows no error but after the initial green android icon it boots to the HiMedia screen then boots properly. No progress bar.

We will have fully updated our firmware threads to reflect the new 5.1 > 7 firmwares by end today.

My Denon AV receiver displays the output HDMI sampling frequency.
With the old 2.03 firmware were the Flac 96kHz natively outputed to the receiver, with the new 2.04 firmware there is unfortunately a downsampling  to 48 kHz !!! My AV Receiver show this information well!!

I get 96Khz and 192Khz passthrough from FLAC with no problems using (coincidently) a Denon ( AVR-1610).

Settings - Playback - HDMI Output needs to be set to RAW.

Lot's of samples here: http://www.2l.no/hires/index.html

* Get 5.1 audio passthrough working in Kodi 17? Kodi 17 changed how it handles audio passthrough meaning that it is currently broken on Q5/Q10 Pro (as at 25-APR-17). This will be fixed and future firmware will have full HD-Audio passthrough (inc 7.1). In the meantime you can install a build of Kodi with the audio passthrough system from Kodi 16.1 restored. Install the 'shitty' build (stupid name we know). See here: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/android/arm/

When can we expect a firmware update that fixes the above issue? Been waiting for several months now.

If this has been fixed please explain what settings need to be done for HD-Audio Pass-through. I do not want to use the shitty build.

I don't have a date, sorry. The 'shitty' build or SPMC give 5.1 passthrough on official firmware, or the pcristi custom firmware gives 5.1 passthrough with any Kodi version. For 7.1 passthrough you need to use wrapper, so it's available for local/LAN sources only.

Thanks Futeko.
Now it works, I had wrong settings,

Settings - Playback - HDMI Output - Auto  ( instead of RAW )!!

Cheers
