Actually if anyone read the forum can realize that to solve 95% of the bugs you need to do the following:

This way you have DVD menu, correct subtitles, 4K HDR with correct ratio, HD audio passthrough and everything else ppl crying for. And you can find solution for the smaller issues in the Q5/Q10 Pro FAQ or if you use search function or ask.

Only thing that won't work or doesn't have a workaround:
  • 3D BD iso with 23.976 is shuttering
  • 3D MVC 23.976 plays in 2D mode
  • 2160p@60Hz output setting sometimes got forgotten

As  far as I remember, but the 2.0.3 reintroduced the gamma flashing more intensively (when any feature of Imprex is on), and I guess CFW wouldn't solve that . Any clues if it's been solved (or worsened) in the 1.1.0?!  :??? (Also present "sometimes" in 1.0.9, only 1.0.7 is free from the issue).

As far as I know the 1.1.0 only have the downside, that on Q5 it looses one USB port. Any more experience on any other bugs?!

Reports are rare about that issue, but if you have it then you just wrote the solution: install 1.0.7, maybe 1.0.7 CFW with MX player, and this problem is gone as well.

Excuse me but,
I bought a box because I imagined it would have worked "out of the box".
If I have to "hack" I could buy a PC.

I do understand that, but what good came with 1 and a half year of complaining..? I see almost non. So whats the point of doing it more? Do you think HiMedia cares?
Imho either send back your box or be focused on making the most out of it.

People, you could use firmware 2.0.1 that works pretty well as it is instead of complaining about an already known buggy firmware. Fast updates do not go well with stability.
Riddle me this, riddle me that

Where do you see those when I say (and actually do) get focused on making the most out of the box instead of useless complaining?

I mean your complaining voice was not heard. Not only by HiMedia, but even Futeko doesn't care about your complains anymore, his hardly post any response. And in some regards I do understand him. There are solutions/workarounds for almost every major issues of the box. But ppl just doesn't care and doesn't even read the FAQ to solve them by their own. Only thing they do is saying "Fix it! Fix it!".

You bought the box and imagined it would have worked "out of the box". Now you know it doesn't. And you know that the developers don't care. But you keep asking for a fix here, where is zero developer. Frankly, I just don't see the point.

As the Media Player based on same chipset. Egreat A10 had shown a better picture than Himedia Q10 Pro. But both suffer the 2.4:1 or 2.39:1 aspect ratio problem. Audio passthrough also limited by the chipset, Dolby Atmos and DTS-X not supported. Dolby Vision is limited by the license. It is the limitation of chipset. Although some of them may resolved by software. But all these are subject to how good is the understanding of the software engineer to the fast moving technology. What the Q10 Pro owner as I am expected is Himedia to express their care to us. Futeko is just a 3rd party reseller/distributor. Don't blame Futeko but Himedia. If nothing happens, move away to other box. Just like you vote your president.

By the way, I think the aspect ratio display correctly should be able to correct soon at least. As all the software base players include Kodi on all platform, MXplayer on all platform, VLC on all platform, MplayerX on all platform do not have this problem. It is just the knowledge of R&D engineering on movie format. Audio support is more complicated. As a broadcast engineer for 30 years, I really want to see some progress on Himedia. Otherwise, I will move away.

The 1.0.7 has other issues and an overall less polished PQ (and it has the black area ghosting issue), so it's definitely a no-go. Maybe i will try CFW 1.1.0 in the future and hope it doesn't introduce any new PQ decimation compared to 1.0.9. As I have red through the 1.1.0 firmware Thread i didn't find any complaining posts.

To be honest, jet I only miss the proper DVD framerate and a sreensaver/dimmer from the HiPlayer during my casual usage of the Box. Ah, and that annoying "Press OK when playback has ended" message, but this last one I guess can't be fixed at all. When I will have time and some appetite for hacking I will try some other KODI forks to resolve (modding the playercorefactory.xml), looks a better idea than any of these patches around here. They are fine in some circumstances, but unfortunately they seam to have some additional downsides as well....

A common issue with 1.1.0 was that you could lose the use of a USB port.  That is what happened when I tried to use it...multiple install attempts.  Others have had the same complaint.  Not sure how widespread the issue is though.  I'm stuck with 1.0.9 until, hopefully, a 2.X version comes out that is stable and doesn't cause new issues.

There will be a firmware update before end next week. This will be HiMedia work only, no HiSilicon fixes.

Then another update first week of July with HDR fix from HiSilicon.
