Well

I installed 2.0.3, and this is my experience versus 2.0.1
Pros:
- more responsive
- wall poster is interesting (but many times it wrong on titles)
- list movies in media center is better.

Cons:
- on some movies files, "restart to beginning " on previous played doesn't work. It's hard to restart a movie. (same issue with 2.0.1)
- sometimes the base bar (with home, back, next etc...  ) doesn't disappear, and remain there for ever. Need to restart.
- remain problem in media center that in video list, there's no "delete option"pressing menu (must to go in "all" list and then press menu button to have deleting option,  boring

Just my cent

I updated from 2.01 to 2.03, in the hopes it would fix the ever crashing netflix app.

Boy, was i WRONG!! 2.03 constantly crashes in any app, reinstalled it twice. Then the pcristi version (which i find odd, futeko ADVICING to use other people's firmware...). Still it keeps crashing... gonna revert to 2.01 tomorrow.

The strange thing about 2.0.3 is that only a few users are getting this crashing and freezing. We've had a large number of installs and it runs OK without these big problems for most people.

Regarding advising people to use pcristi's firmware, why would we not recommend it? It's the same as official 2.0.3 but it looks better, contains some fixes, and has a better app selection.

Hello,

Nice, you can say whatever you want, but at this time and with few test with the Official one, Cs firmware from PcRisti (Very thanks to him) most of us can say that we can't have a Media Player Q10 Pro like that....
So the 2.03 firmware version is a disaster one and mus be react to a new real one soon. That's the wish we have. So Himedia, please have test before and give us a real firmware with all most of mistakes we are waiting for long time.

I don't undrstand many people's harsh or extrem comments. For sure firmware 2.0.3 is far from perfect, but to me it is an improvement.
I used the original 2.0.3 for a week then I switched to Pcristi's custom 2.0.3 and picture is great, sound is great and I have no freezes, furthermore subtitles management have improved. I don't use KODI very much, because I prefer wrapper, and to me, the essence, the basic functions which are reproducing films up to 4K with HDR and sound up to 7.1 (ATMOS or DTS:X) is very well done. The rest is nice to have and I too, am looking forward for improvements in the next firmware, but definitely I don't agree with such extreme comments, saying it is rubbish and useless.

And that is the problem! I bought it as a Kodi player, not as a Wrapper player, with streams the wrapper does not work.
So the Q10 Pro is now more an expensive brick then a mediaplayer!

I too bought it expecting it to be a great kodi box. But it's a step backwards from the minix u1 it replaced when running kodi so I keep hoping for great advancements in this box for kodi. Still hoping seeing this is a "premium android box".

I've mentioned my dramas before, android 7 roms have no way to change default launcher, multi channel audio, the odd stutter on mpeg 2 over the air TV in kodi.. The hidden settings that should be shown such as accessibility menu when it's there cause search or tasker  can find it  (so can get around that one).

But none of that is fixed in the last firmware so I'm still feeling I bought the wrong brand of box (if only I'd read this forum before . So still hoping the next firmware brings bigger and better changes. And hopefully it's not months away.

Well, there are so many cheap devices including computers, tablets etc that run KODI, and you bought such an expensive device for KODI? For me picture quality in 4k HDR and 7.1 SOUND is what counts. I spent almost 200 euros for THAT. KODI I have it everywhere but streaming quality and sound quality is not enough for me in KODI. SO for pic/sound excellency I use this.

Yes for me pictures quality and sound is what counts thats why I bough this Himedia!
Kodi streams have also 4k en 7.1 sound, but it is not working anymore with this brick!
People like  you only think of themselves, for me it works so it's a perfect box.  >:(

I'm happy for those for whom it works, i'm hoping to see 2.0.4 reaaallll fast and that it fixes both the netflix issues and the other issues i'm having with 2.0.3.

Do you have any clue as to why some boxes react differently to the same firmware?? Anything i can do (ie log's or whatever?) to help fixing it?

And why i find it strange that you advice other people's firmware:
1: 99/100 companies would void the warranty after flashing custom firmware. (So in that regards, kudo's for not being one of those 99, but it's still an odd/unheard of policy :P))

2: You are the company that designs/engineers/builds/sells the box and its firmware. Personally, if it were my company, i'd make sure i would be delivering the best in both hardware and firmware to ensure people to become repeat customers.
If Pcristi's firmware is better (personally i like the bit more colourfull look Futeko's firmware a bit better, as to other issues i can not comment yet as i've only had the 2.0.3 firmware from pcristi 3 times now and still crashes) i would take a gooooood hard look at that firmware and implement his changes into my own, heck, i'd contact him (or her:P) to do some (freelance) work so that everything that customers use, has the FUTEKO branding on it. Just my .02 cents in that department. IMHO that only could benefit your company in both short and long terms and increase customer satisfaction.

If you had read my post carefully, you would have seen that I wrote "it is far from perfect , and that I am looking forward for the improvements in the next firmware" , my point is that there are many degradating and extremely harsh comments just because KODI is not working perfectly (which by the way is not working perfectly anywhere else)
So, no, I do not think of myself only, but I don't like people getting hysterical saying they will " sell this shitty brick, or go back to previous firmware because this is useless etc etc etc"... because somehow the truth lies in between, I don't think 2.0.3 is worse than 2.0.1 just because KODI is still not working well, I can value the improvements elsewhere, and I do not concentrate only in KODI.

The mixed feedback is strange.

My advice is to install using restore button method and immediately after install sign into Play Store and update all apps. Then reboot and install / configure as you want. This should create a clean and updated base.

1. That's the way we've always done it. Successful products will always attract talented people to work on the firmware. A combination of good official updates and an active userbase developing custom / third party firmware is the best mix.

2. We are not the designer or manufacturer of the HiMedia products. HiMedia are a subsidiary of Huawei (revenue $31billion in 2016) and located in China. We (futeko) are a retailer based in the UK with revenue somewhat less than $31billion! >:(.
