I DON'T want the remote to also control the TV
« on: January 12, 2025, 04:35:04 PM »
I am having a huge problem, and I'm going crazy .

I bought a new tv, and the Dune HD remote control (IR Premier Remote) also controls the tv, doing so in a totally confusing way, without any programming on my part of the remote control, this way it is literally impossible for me to control the media player and I am forced to use the Bluetooth remote control:
https://www.dune-hd.com/collections/accessories/products/dune-hd-premium-ir-remote

This is my tv:

I DON'T WANT the Dune remote to control my tv, how can I prevent this other than using the bluetooth remote as a lifeline like I am doing now?

I can't find anything in its own user manual:

This is the DUNE support page dedicated to IR, but i can't understand so much about it:

The Dune remotes all use the same IR codes so I don't see a way around this except using the Bluetooth remote or changing the TV.

The problem is as much that the TV uses the Dune codes as the other way around. As far as I'm aware this hasn't come up with any other TVs and Dune have used those codes for more than a decade.
