I've disabled joystick in MyAddons but the problems mentioned earlier re subtitle, chapter change button reversed, audio channel change, and lack of any controls in the lower kodi screen which you can use to carry out some of these functions is unavailable. Any thoughts from anyone?

Did you restart Kodi after disabling the joystick support?

Yes I restarted and rebooted but no luck the same problems exist, however, I have found a way to show the necessary settings in the bottom of the kodi player just hit menu on the remote and all the necessary subtitle, audio adjustments are there as usual along the bottom of the window.

It seems that HiControl app does not work anymore with firmware version 217, at least with my setup. Does anyone can still use this app on this firmware? Thank you.

For me HiControl  still working well, device name is was change from TV Box to UHD PLAYER.
Please note can't be use when streaming HDCP + DRM L1 contend like Netflix.

Thank you pcristi for the feedback. Did a new clean installation of the firmware and the app works now.

For me, the HiControl app is unusable, when KODI is running (even if just in the background), so the Control app  almost immediately closes when opened. Closing KODI eliminates the problem. Is this the same for everyone? (I'm still on official 2.1.1, but here's a little conversation about it).

Amazon prime app is not working. when I play the video it shows something went wrong error. "how to use DRM L1 advantages" to stream 4k videos in Netflix and amazon. sorry for the basic question

Still no luck updating to 2.1.7 on my Q5 Pro, but my Q10 Pro took the update no problems, now on PCRistis CFW 2.1.7 on the Q10.
What am I doing wrong on the Q5? I was on CFW 2.1.4, went to OFW 2.1.4, tried to go to OFW 2.1.6 - nothing, tried to go to OFW 2.1.7 - nothing, now back on CFW 2.1.4, the only clue I have is that in the very first seconds of initial boot to CFW 2.1.4 I see a red backgrond and oddly coloured HIMEDIA logo, which then disappears and a few seconds later the correct looking HIMEDIA logo appears, is this a sign that I have an Android problem or some other software problem. Maybe I should go back to 2.1.1 and then up from there? Help please.

If I turn on the TV before the Q10 I see the Himedia logo and background with inverted colors for a second so I guess that's normal. Try to update via settings menu.
To completely start over install 2.0.4 followed by 2.1.4

In vpn settings normally there are 2 options
1 Always on VPN
2 Block connections without VPN

But in this update I do not find the 2 option.

Can you please ADD one?

look like OFW v2.1.7 have broken VPN settings.
Someone else can confirm if settings crash when try add/edit VPN connection on v2.1.7?
