New Official (?) 2.1.6 Firmwares + some new patch
« on: July 22, 2020, 01:01:51 PM »
On HiMedia's official Hungarian (dealers) support Forum, there have been a new (said as) official 2.1.5 firmware published. ->Link

I won't translate the whole stuff, please use your browsers translator to read the changelog.

(The title says 2.1.6, but the Device info shows 2.1.5, but I guess this doesn't matter much).

One think to aware: as it seams based on some Chinese FW version the Google services related apps aren't integrated! (Which could be fixed with a corresponding new patch, that adds these services, but the link to the patch on the bottom of the first post is somehow dead now...)
-----------
There's also a new (other?) patch published a bit earlier: Link

The title says it's for the 2.1.4 FW, but it's unclear at the moment if this patch is identical with the patch mentioned above, or is it a completely different one... ???

So my questions regarding if anyone (including Futeko!) have tried or even heard/read from these before and if so, than what experiences does one have that worth to share here?

Do you recommend using this 2.1.6 version ... is it in English or Hungarian ???

And do you have a confirmed link for download?

There's also a patch (update) downloadable here to fix this. Install the same way, like the FW with the paperclip method.

And will there be a patch to fix that patch  >:( >:( >:( ?

Why, whats the problem with the patch?

I've now lost all interest in HiMedia  >:(!

Do I go for Zidoo Z1000 Z9X or Dune HD Pro 4K II ????

No idea! But yesterday there was "no problem" with the "update"  >:(

And what is the problem with the "update"? The one there was regarding the lack of Google services, I've also mentioned in the first post (and that's what the "patch" meant to fix btw).

In my hypothesis, the same thing is happening as for the latest Huawei smartphones, where for reasons of restriction by the American government, the Playstore app can be replaced by other apps to install google services.

Correct  :-X !

So what happens to all of the other Chinese boxes? Will they all go the same way as Huawei/HiMedia ???

I assume so, I think it's a solution to get around the restrictions of the American government.
Eventually, if it is available, we will have to wait for the release (2.1.6?) For the European models.

Yesterday I installed this FW including patch and everything works very well on my Q5Pro. After settings I started installing my applications from GStore. When I installed Tidal because I was pleasantly surprised with the interface because I could control it normally with remote control, arrows etc. After restarting the box the interface returned to the classic view.
How can I return to the corresponding view in the application ?

I have long since retired my Q10 Pro so for something to do this morning I decided to try this out, Boots really fast compared to all previous FW, However after installing 2.1.6 with the patch for Google etc the box seems to very frequently Crash back to the Himedia Logo and reboot, This problem seems to be triggered even more by Installing/Uninstalling apps and frequent navigation.

I did clean install with Paperclip

I will try re installing later when I have more time
