It is possible to use the file browser to find and play movies if that's the way you prefer the box to work. The older boxes like WDTV tended to be file directory based because they lacked the computing power to manage the database for a proper media library. The way Zidoo Home Theatre works is the same as all other modern products and apps (e.g. Kodi).
If you want to split your library into different sections then adding as separate sources is a good solution and doesn't take too long for something that you will only need to do once.
From the poster wall:
- It is one keypress (left on remote) to access sidebar menu, from which you can filter to favourites, viewing history, recently added, unwatched, TV and other categories.
- It is two key presses (menu then select filter) to access the filter menu where you can filter by source, video type, genre, year, and alter how titles are sorted (title/rating/added date/year/modified date).
- It is two key presses (menu then select search) to access global search where you can search alphabetically your entire library.
This is not difficult or complicated, especially because Zidoo Home Theatre is well designed and presented.
Please list apps that don't work. Google Play Services is unnecessary for a media player and is easily installable if you really want it (more info here: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=3876.0)
