Oppo's still much overpriced for it's capabilities. Some are satisfied with the PQ (good for them, and nothing wrong with that) and some can strictly tell, that it's over saturated and over sharpened in most cases. Tho' HiMedai's PQ might also not be 100% perfect in synthetic picture tests, but it's considered as one of the best (if not the best) PQ that any Android based player has to offer at the moment. 

Yea, Oppo's also lacks the online TV streaming capability, but what I've really meant is the missing network share access and playback. Only with the pricey CFW will it do that. I'm kinda through that uncomfortable session when I've copied the videos every time to a pendrive and ran around with it between my TV and my Computer.   

What Oppo's better at: -maybe- in SD, HD and 1080p upscaling (still you will loose some on the side of the general PQ deficiencies and unnaturality). And -at most definitely- the audio playback sound quality on the analogue outputs.

I have Oppo 205 and it can't replace Q10 pro.

well, don't you want to trade 205 for my q10 ? (huh huh... if i had a 205.. i would change my entire audio system to match the sound quality!)

what? on oppo? i had problems with q10 and password-protected shares, solved them using simple fie sharing, or with folder named using spaces. but oppo?

So you have Oppo? Than you can tell better than me.  As far as I know, playback from network shares only available with the CFW, which you also must buy separately and will cost you a mid-priced Android Media Players price on it's own.

No problems playing 720p or 1080p TV episodes at all.  Never has been (with any firmware version).  I am using Kodi 17.6 and wrapper settings for playback. 
Have you checked your other Settings after the upgrade?  Maybe something else changed?
Your stutter issues may also depend on the source of your TV material rather than the player firmware?

Hello, anyone with this version could tell me if Kodi wrapper now don't crashes when video filename contains special characters (e.g. # or &).  This was an issue in previous versions and still didn't work for me but Himedia told me should be fixed now.

Well, in troubleshooting Wi-fi issues I was suffering after moving, I decided to finally update from 2.0.6 to 2.0.9 last night.  I reverted back this morning after my box would not power off without pulling the power cable in the back...I'm not the only one who was suffering from this in 2.0.8...looks like it was never fixed.  Also, the Wi-fi on these is terrible.  I've now attached a higher gain antenna to the back and brought a wi-fi extender into the room to see if I can get enough of a connection to stream from a network drive again.

can you remove  chrome as default system app in the next update
they  now  force the pepper player you can't even get disabled  or you have to cancel all flash
so remove   chrome on default and let set people there own browser  like firefox

From FAQ:

Or just simply install a different Launcher from PlayStore (I prefer the Nova), and you can hide and drop out any of the  icons you wish.  + Your GUI will look much prettier than with the plain default Launcher.
