Does anyone use the q10 with Epson 5040/6040ub projector?

I know HDR isn't the best on projectors but I want to make sure I have the correct settings for HDR.

is 2160p 24hz and ycbcr 422 the best to use with this projector that uses the 10.2 GBPS hdmi chipset?

Set the freq to 60Hz in the Settings, 24p mode to ON and HDR to Auto.

Theoretically 444 is better than 422. Set it to 444 8bit in the Settings (you can't set other than 4:2:0 with 60Hz/10bit), Play a proper HDR video and see with the Projector's or the AVRs "info" button if the input signal is properly 10bit/HDR (it must switch to this automatically in the case of 23.976fps videos, by my recognition).

Are you saying 1080p/60 ?  because if I do 4k/60 it will not allow me to select ycbcr 444, in fact I can only select ycbcr420 when I have 4k/60hz

If I do 1080p/60 then the movie will play and projector info is HDR 2020 444 8 bit

I typically have selected ycbcr 422 and then the projector will show HDR 2020  422 12-bit

I assumed I needed at least 10-bit to have a proper HDR image

No, 4K/60Hz/444/8bit i've ment. But maybe it won't switch to 10bit automatically as I've presumed. You can try 422/8bit, but i guess the result will be the same. In this case you have no better choice than to set it to 420/10bit. (The optimal would be, if it would do auto switch to 444/10bit when you play a HDR video, but that's just theory).  And always stick to 4K, otherwise it will downscale 4K video to 1080p.
