subtitles problem
« on: September 15, 2015, 11:06:50 AM »
Hi,

with version 3.0.1 the problems with subtitles continue:

1) sometimes after pause and play the player (I use Media Center) shows numbers before the text (I suppose the order number in subtitles (SRT format)
example:
Code: [Select]
1
00:01:00,000 --> 00:01:02,000
line 1

2
00:01:03,000 --> 00:01:05,000
line 2

3
00:01:06,000 --> 00:01:08,000
line 3

4
00:01:09,000 --> 00:01:11,000
line 4

2) after start of playing I see wrong charset of subtitles
a) subtitles are written in UTF8 (with BOM at beginning of the file) - I choose SLAVIC(CP1251) or choose AUTO to fix it
b) SUBTITLES MODE = SLAVIC(CP1251) and UTF8 subtitles are not working
these functionalities need to be reviewed

Anyone with similar problems? I don't expect the problem to be related with CP1251 encoding :)

Regards

Sure, but what about topics that staying empty without a reply?
No answer, just staying there and someday it will be read and maybe another day will be fixed?
If it is a minor problem let receive at least a reply for it, ok?

Two devices and support - someday, somehow. I'm not pleased.

If we don't know the answer, and the forum users don't know the answer, then there will be no replies. I cannot magic up answers and posting just for the sake of replying wouldn't help anyone.

Himedia read this forum and I report back bugs to Himedia. They do a pretty good job of producing updates and fixing things, certainly better than their competitors.

Please, don't understand me wrong, but if Himedia read this forum, how the users will know that is happened?
Sometimes I read at the forum something like this "Just tested and I also get that problem with Netflix. Sticks on 'Loading' when playing video. I have told Himedia. They will fix it."

Your company tells to Himedia or they read directly the forum?

Simply wish to know how I can request a bug and Himedia know for it?

I work at internet company and if there is a problem with some service, the customers calls to our helpdesk and they told us for the problem. If I don't see any reply to my request I assume that it is ignored. Of course I don't expect some of the other users of the forum / i.e. the customers / to solve any bug (except those that I've made myself :) ).

Regards

Both. I tell Himedia and they read the forum.

Do not think that if you do not see a reply then it is ignored.

Like I said in the previous reply, it is my decision not to post an acknowledgement of every post. It would get repetitive. This is a forum, in which moderation is minimal, not a customer service ticket log.

If you want a guaranteed reply then email us. mail@futeko.com.

Thanks for the explanation. Will read the forum and if I don't find solution maybe will write an email.

Why don't open two topics: one for requests and one for bugs?
Your team will decide is it a bug or not?
Seems little messy to read the entire forum for technical problems let's say.
At all we can turn this forum as chat and Himedia and Futeko are not obliged to read our writings :)

Just offer.

Thanks again for the help.

Got it - not chat, but sometimes some of the explanations are like chat
mean that - if the topic is for bugs I don't expect some customer to answer i.e. less trash of writings and more details for bugs.

When can we expect a two-color label shadow?

I'll pass on the request to Himedia but I'm not sure this will be implemented.

Hi,

1) sometimes after pause and play the player (I use Media Center) shows numbers before the text (I suppose the order number in subtitles (SRT format)
example:

Happy holdays to all.
Finally I've found how to reproduce this bug. It happens also with 3.0.2

1) start the movie.
2) press pause.
3) modify the subtitles and save them.
4) resume playing
5) seek back or forward and "voila".

seems the subtitles somehow are show according with file offset, file size or something.
It should be related only by time position.

Regards
