Will be much convenience for user witch need proper aspect ratio for 720x576 16:9 to install just old player from FW v2.0.4 on FW v2.0.5/2.0.6.
Is lost BD/UHD menu but will keep possibility to play main movie on UHD disc.
Just follow instruction to restore "new HiMediaVideoPlayer" from my old post with restore method(paper clip).

Don't forgot to backup all sensitive data before use  restore method(paper clip).

New HiMediaVideoPlayer is like that in both official and CFW 2.0.4.
For restore old HiMediaVideoPlayer download restore(old_player)_HiMediaVideoPlayer_1.0.11_HMD_0411(AirMouse_inputs_support).zip rename to update.zip and apply from Setting/Upgrade/Local Upgrade. In case want new HiMediaVideoPlayer again use this update.zip with restore method.

Look like new recovery from FW 2.0.4 don't accepted from first try, sometime need to try 2 times consecutive.
So download restore(old_player)_HiMediaVideoPlayer_1.0.11_HMD_0411(AirMouse_inputs_support).zip, rename to update.zip copy to USB stick.
Apply from Setting/Upgrade/Local Upgrade/USB_x to get old player HiMediaVideoPlayer_1.0.11_HMD_0411 from CFW 2.0.3.
In case want new HiMediaVideoPlayer(VideoPlayer VideoPlay) again use this update.zip with restore method(paper clip).

Thank you for the precious information, but I can not download the file

But what happens if you simply select the "Full screen" setting, doesn't it display than with the original ratio?

The "Full screen" function as in all the players, adapts the formats with aspect ratio from 1:33 to 2.35: 1 to the 16: 9 screen (1:78) of the display.

Bu as it' also 16:9 the aspect ratio of the video should be correct than, or not? That's what I'm asking.

Using the "Full screen" command, it creates a problem for 4: 3 movies, which is adapted to the display (16: 9) with a sudden distortion of image.

I know, but only the case if the video is 4:3, but this thread is specially about 720x576 non-square pixel, therefore 16:9 aspect ratio videos.

The problem is not solved with the "Full screen" command, it must be correct the firmware (I hope in the next version) to correctly reproduce the aspect ratios like the previous firmware (2.0.4) and all the other players.

I didn't debated that it must be fixed, just asking if it's the same effect or not, if we just set to "Full screen"?

Virtually yes!
With a 16: 9 pal movie, which is currently being replayed in 4: 3, with the "Full screen" command being restored to its original size.

Why just "Virtually"? Does it stretch or zoom in to the original pixels in any way? If it doesn't distort the original picture than it's a correct solution (even if just temporary).

As a temporary solution, is I prefers that of pcristi  http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=2576.msg21706#msg21706

I also have some DVDs like this, so that's why i'm thinking over this. I guess to set manually to "Full screen" is still a better solution than downgrade the whole Player app just because this issue.

If we talk about a "temporary" solution at this point, everyone can act as he sees fit, even if the "Full Screen" solution is inconvenient for me.
When you play pal files 16: 9 it is OK, then when you play 4: 3 files you have to turn off the full screen.
However, it is urgent to correct this bug with a new firmware.
