hello cillo99,

If I understand you correctly Zidoo gives me 3d ISO WITH Menu in its own player yes ?......

Yes, BD menu with ISO 2D/3D when you use their home theater app.

I put a video that shows the support of a 3D ISO in my review.

here it is

Hello all,

I think to make a comparison about the gradient of color in some movie scenes (titanic, deepwater horizon, etc...) between the Egreat A10 and the Zidoo X10 with the settings by default (out of the box) and my default settings that I use on my tv ( Nicolas settings available on hdfever forum for Sony x930c)

If what I see with my eyes is visible on the pictures, I will post them on my thread.

see you

Hello Cemo,

For having seen some movies several times with different boxes on my TV Sony 65X930C, I have a preference for zidoo (out of box), it is just my opinion.

Tonight or tomorrow I will start a small comparison between the egreat and the zidoo

I am not an expert, but I will try to show why I prefer the zidoo to the egreat or the himedia

your welcome cillo99,

Here are my impressions about the PQ of zidoo, this is only my personal opinion.

There are the same parameters for both devices

Some people say that the image of the Egreat is better, They may be right. but for me, my preference goes to the Zidoo.

Sharpness
The sharpness is better on the Zidoo ( out of the box ) but using the sharpness of my TV, we get the same thing on the Egreat,

colorimetry
I have a preference for the Zidoo.

Why I prefer the PQ of the Zidoo

With the Egreat
-  Sometimes there are areas of the image with a kind of greenish-pixelated color with the Egreat (I had the same problem with the himedia Q10 pro)
We do not see it on my pictures, and this happens on certain scenes when there are dark gradations of colors.

-  Another problem for me is the gradient banding with the Egreat ( and himedia Q10 pro ).
I do some pictures and videos, you can not see it correctly on the video ( It can be seen from the 25th seconds on the left of the image) of the Egreat, but it is present when we see it with our own eyes.

On the Zidoo

The 2 problems above does not exist on the Zidoo

Overall I find the PQ of the Zidoo better, and you have an excellent PQ at the first start of the box after unpacking.

As I said, this is what I think and what I see on the screen with my equipment

Thanks Olivier

I had the same "banding "problem with my Egreat A5 on my  Sony  ZD9 too but I thought it was my cable.......My Nvidia does that too by the way but not so much. If the Zidoo does not...ok  even better. End of August I will order it...just have to recover a bit from my holiday...lol

Hello cillo99,

I am not an expert but it seems to me that the problem (banding) It is more visible on the boxes that have the chipset Hisilicone.
It is incredible the difference between the 2 boxes at the beginning of the deepwater horizon movie.

I do the tests with the default settings for the 2 boxes, after each person can adjust according to their tastes.

Here are new pictures taken close (avatar movie), we can see that the zidoo has a detailed image, contrary to the Egreat which has a softer image,
i think the zidoo has an image processing that enhances sharpness, contrast, etc ...

The result is an overall better image for my taste with the Zidoo X10

By adjusting the parameters of the Egreat and the TV we can almost reduce the banding of the egreat and have a better sharpness also.

ZIDOO

EGREAT

Hi Olivier

Ordered me the Zidoo X10 and yesterday it arrived ......(ordered it in NL so only one day between payment and delivery)
This weekend I will give it a "deep"look but yesterday I checked if it did not have my Egreat A5 'faults"and until now I must say that it surprised me.

It plays audio (both through the Kodi-clone as well as through the own player) without any disturbing hisses. The bluray menu works same as in Egreat A5 (if you use the Zidoo player) and YES !!!! it recognizes  my external harddiscs  (external powered as well as non-powered) both in the Kodi-clone as well as in the Zidoo player.
3D iSO works too (only no subtitles there ) so thank you for showing me this way. If things stay as good this could become my main player.

In the weekend I will  do some more tests  but for now I am very happy with it.

Hello all,

I do not have DVD movie ISO in my collection, but I use 2 samples for tests.

I checked the ISO support with the following apps :

ZDMC 17.3 Beta
Kodi  17.3  (Cobric's Version)
Home theater app
Explorer

for information:
The apps use the Zidoo player which explains why ISO DVDs work properly with them

I do some testing and everything seems to work properly, except the Forward & Backward function for chapters.

This is not a big deal,  you can return to the DVD menu and use Scenes Selection.

See you

Hello all,

I just installed the latest FW 1.4.12, i made a hard reset to have a clean box with the following procedure :

http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=2217.0

--------------------

With the previous fw 1.4.6 we were limited to 48 khz with HD audio files, i just try 3 audio files in 96khz / 196khz with the new FW , and everything seems to work fine.

Hello Olivier QC
Did you have to format the HDD 3To before inserting it in the box?
Can the box format the disk?

If not, how did you do ?

Hello mankwee,

it was already formatted (ntfs/GPT)with the Q10 pro.

I do not know if connecting the X10 in usb has a PC, it could be recognized as a USB key and able to format it directly
from the Disk Manager of win10.
