usb 3.0 port not working  ???

Are you sure? There's been no other feedback saying same.

Well, with this firmware when I connect my USB 3.0 disk to the right side port (left ports are not working), it is recognized as USB 2.0, so it seems to be a new issue.

On Q10 Pro? There are no USB ports on the right of the casing, just three on the left. Of these the leftmost one is USB3.

On Q5 Pro the US3 port is the back port on left side. The right side port is USB2.

Hi. I just upgraded my Q10 pro to latest Android 7 version. I wanted to try this Wallposter option. I read the instructions and under My Apps I do not see a Wallposter app. How do I get the Wallposter app? Thanks for your help.

Maybe easier to remember: The inside of a USB3 port is usually Blue and of standard UB2 ports it is Black. Valid for (almost) all equipment with USB ports.
For USB 3.1 (double speed) it should be Red.

Whats about the HDR aspect ratio problem?? Please refer to the following thread  http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1682.60. Why isn't that issue fixed by the current Firmware. Lot's of people waiting for a solution. Before we can enjoy a poster feature the base functionality should be guaranteed by futeko. Will that problem be fixed in the Firmware futeko will release by end of march? If yes great  :D and if no, why not  :-\?

@Futeko
Where is the promised new version for 5.1 and working main feature like HDR with correct aspected ratio (bug fix release promised for end of march)?
These kind of customer support  is unbelievable, we get cosmetics feature instead of functionality we should have from the beginning.
Never wasted more money for a device than for Himedia player.
Please give us a firm date for the bug fix.
Thanks.

I am a retailer and not the manufacturer. As much as I'd like to be able to give you a guaranteed fix date, I cannot. I rely on what HiMedia tell me.

The new firmware promised for end of March is Android 7 not 5.1. A test version of it was released on the next Android 7 firmware thread on 31-MAR. It didn't deliver what we all wanted but it at least showed progress.

I met with HiMedia last week and made it very clear to them that the main bugs (Kodi 17.1 HD Audio, HDR aspect ratio, subtitle stutter/gaps) must be fixed. I was as direct as possible.

What came from that meeting (and what we knew already) is that the Kodi and HDR aspect ratio problems require fixes from HiSilicon. These problems are apparent on other HiSilicon based hardware too. The advantage HiMedia have is that they share a parent with HiSilicon (Huawei). This means fixes will come first to HiMedia.

In the meantime the HDR aspect ratio problem can be worked around by using a different media player app (e.g. Archos Video Player).

Question 1:
So other media players are not using the HiSilicon SDK like the HiMedia Player so they can play HDR 4K properly. But to get the full advantages of the chipset itself you should use the HiSilicon SDK. Am I correct? Do you know what these advantages are?

Question 2:
Why don't you make a sticky thread (or include it as a sub-thread under FAQ) about how to replace HiMedia Player with MX Player and Archos? I mean you said that "Kodi 17.1 HD Audio, HDR aspect ratio, subtitle stutter/gaps" are the main bugs now.  MX Player solves two (HDR, subtitle, but no HD audio for DVD/Bluray images)  and Archos solves two (Kodi, HDR, but lack of proper subtitle support) as well. Frankly, if they didn't fix all these 3 in this month you should make these fixes widely known and available in the FAQ or you should take down the advertised "ULTRA-HD 4K HDR" support from the main page because it's just false advertisement. This goes to Kodi and proper subtitle handling as well.

And if were speaking from SDK level fixes, please let' s not forget the other -immemorially hanging-- mayor bugs:

1. Proper DVD frame rate switching,
2. Proper 3D iso frame rate,
3. Screensaver/dimmer in HimediaPlayer,
4. Correct and more "intelligent" Auto subtitle encoding recognition (on "other than English" languages as well...)

(And this list is still very far from attempting to be comprehensive.)

(I won't even mention the other common "side bug" fixes and appreciated feature extension requests.-> Tho' they are expected as well by many of us, and some of them even promised here a long time ago... And that's why well known and could be listed by many of us in a blink, just from remembrance.)

Thank you!

I saw that someone else may or may not have similar issue with this particular firmware (not sure if there was confusion of Q5 vs. Q10 Pro).  When I installed Q10 Pro firmware downloaded from HiMedia web site, and installed, I lost a USB 2.0 port.  When looking at the 3 USB ports on the left ( 1 x USB 3.0 and 2 x 2.0) the middle USB 2.0 would provide power to a drive but was not available nor could be read.  The USB 3.0 and 1 x USB 2.0 were available.  Downgrading back to 1.0.9 restored functionality.  Thoughts?

That's a known bug with 1.1.0, and has been reported to HiMedia.
