I've recently reverted from Android 7 firmwares (latest was 2.1.2) to a stock and then custom 1.1.0 firmware.
It is definitely better, but I'm experiencing several issues on the Kodi 17 included with it:
- YouTube does not work properly inside Kodi. The only way to get it to work is to use the internal Kodi videoplayer (and not the wrapper) to play clips, and then it's always jittery. That also means that trailers do not play.
- IPTV channels suffer the same, but with them, if I go through the add-on (not the TV section) and manually choose the internal player, they play more or less fine. It's very tedious and unproductive, though.
- MXplayer will play network streams, but will not play content from local network. Tried both manually and automatically via playercorefactory.xml
The options I see are as follows: Update to the later 17.6 version in hopes it will improve things, or Update to the latest 18.2 version, and I suspect that will actually break things since 18.2 does not work very well on this player. I experienced recurring crashes, and the wrapper does not mark files as played.
Any advice? Going back to Android 7 (and firmware 2.1.4) is not a very desirable option since I doubt it will correct much of the issues and Android 7 is heavy on this box.
Thanks.
