Im on latest firmware and using built in player I cant play 1080p or 4k HEVC.
I get no video but audio plays.
Also on mxplayer it defaults to SW decode as HW not supported and I get a ac3 sound not supported.

I've answered about HEVC on the thread you created for it.

I'll report about MXPlayer to Himedia but it's something MXplayer would have to fix (adding HW support for HiSilicon chipsets). Use Himediaplayer instead.

CS has published his modded version of 1.0.9 firmware.

I haven't tried it yet and have no feedback.
Prolly will try it later today if I can make the time.

The Wrapper is required also if you want 24fps switching in Kodi, without the wrapper Kodi plays everything at current resolution set in Android and of course 108024 is missing from android.
Any option for Himedia to create custom version of Kodi to enable 24fps switching?

the wrapper not playing my NAS files is really p******g me off.
It is a Synology NAS and I can't get the shared folders to become completely unprotected so that wrapper can play them... kodi does but no HD audio

there is a little hack, open folder with password with himedia media center (shurtcut)  than kodi now wrapper work(os just mount net folder with password). it must do every system boot.

Yes. DTS-HD audio format. The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, 2012 (DTS-HD EX), Total recall 2012 remastered 4K...
TrueHD, Dolby Atmos OK.

Not to use an external optical drive?

With all movies with 23,976. The drop outs occur occasionally during playback.
