Does PIP works on 7?

No. PIP is an Android TV feature. The update is to Android 7 OS, not changing the OS to Android TV OS.

Maybe PIP is. But split screen is a generic Android 7 feature also available on smartphones. Saw it on the release notes.

It mentions both split screen and PIP explicitly. So somebody has the wrong story there.  8)

It would really be a wonder to get PIP. Splitscreen is not so hard to implement, I saw it activated on smartphones. A few days of waiting won't hurt us. We have waited this long.

I am wondering if the new Android 7 based firmware still uses the Wrapper or if the SOC is supported directly?
If it still uses the wrapper: Is HiMedia working on directly supporting the SOC without wrapper?

The Beta is essentially a port from FW 1.0.8 without any functional updates. So only new problems were added related to Android 7 being introduced (which are few and not very big). The only goody straight available is KODI 17 working (needing the wrapper for HD audio).
What the new FW 2.0.1 will bring for functional update is wait and see.

Is it right that i don't have to use the wrapper with the beta in case of using KODI 17? I don't need HD Audio.  :o

I also have a request for Himedia, I guess this one goes to @futeko.com. On a previous TV Box I could run HBO Go without any issues on wired connection. On Q10 Pro I am faced with 2 issues: first one is that this app (and possibly others) need to be fooled into thinking it is using a WiFi connection (I honestly do not know the other firmware was built). The second one is related to virtually unplugging the HDMI so that this app (and others) do not detect it (it is about setting a parameter in the kernel /sys/devices/virtual/switch/hdmi/state to zero - I am writing the path by heart, but is should be readable on any tox pretty easily).

I am a little annoyed by the fact that HBO Go worked on that cheap, not-recommended TV box and it does not work on this one. I could not fix it even with root or some apks I found (basically this Xposed module http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.lemonsqueeze.fakewificonnection and an app called HDMI Virtual Switch - that sets that kernel variable).
