Purchased Q10 - Storage or NAS
« on: September 23, 2016, 02:20:29 PM »
Hello

I just purchased a Q10 and wanted to know whether I need to set up a NAS for my Q10 to access data or if I can connect my Q10 to LAN and access the data on there from windows 10? If so I plan to buy a HDD for extra storage as I do not want to have to buy a NAS if I can access the storage on a Q10.

Thank you

Your question is confusing! Do you have a NAS or do you want to have a HDD in the Q10 Pro?
If you put a HDD in the Q10 Pro you can access it via LAN to put your files on it.
Also you can connect the Q10 Pro via USB with your  computer, it's faster then via LAN.

You can stream movies from PC with Windows networking. Use gigabit wired for best results.
You have to turn on Samba on the media box and set up file sharing on your PC.
