Extra problems using FW 1.0.7 playing DVD:
- The External Subtitles are not found anymore (reported before)
- Playback has PQ problems probably due to de-interlacing not working at 25 Hz / 30 Hz display rate used now instead of 50 Hz /60Hz as should be.
- Audio off-set with some DVD's all playing well using KODI (without the wrapper).

I can confirm the DVD playback issues, specialy with the Picture Quality, which is the most dissapointing...  Hope they're will be fixed...

Now I can't test it because in doubt of probable defects today I returned the box to amazon and buy it again when I will receive the refund. Anyway I tried yesterday with a 1080p movie at 23,976 fps without judder but with a movie at 25 fps judder was present. Box settings is at 720p at 50hz. I want repeat that with kodi there's no judder; only with himedia app. Here's an episode sample that I can see judder:

https://mega.nz/#!ZpVh1RBL!FLPJRxW7LJgcbT0pxkg27yNgwAV3_YTD7GRdB8p2BL0

At min 8:56.

At 8:56 I get a black screen for a couple of seconds. I get the same when playing it on a PC, so it's a problem with the video.

No ., it's a normal pause-scene before next. See after that point where it can see the cinema and the street.

I suspect both the perceived PQ problem and the judder are related to output being at 25Hz rather than 50Hz.

With Kodi the auto-switching would not operate so output would be at system Hz, which was 50Hz in Linuxx's case.

This has been reported to HiMedia and will be fixed.

The judder also exists while playing thru PC and Pioneer BDP.

Thanks .! If it will be fixed at all output will become perfect!  Because with Kodi video colors are a little bit faded respect himedia app.

And very important is proper Framerate Switch on 50/60Hz Material!
ATM with 1.07 nothing happens, no FPS Change at all, works only on 25hz (to= 25hz with reported judder) and 29.97fps, but not on 50/60

HiMedia need to build option similar to MX Player if user want ask for resume / always resume / never resume.

Indeed that is the way to do it. Have several 5+ years old players which already implemented it exactly that way.

The same for Menu playback (not implemented yet for Himedia):  YES, NO, Ask Always. With Ask Always chosen it would in fact ask each time: "Play With Menu: YES, NO and now also the option  Browse added". That Browse option would let you look inside the folders which occasionally is very handy.

Did you suggest to HiMedia to search on they shelf old HiMedia 900A/B  and to review BD lite menu option from Realtek SDK for RTD 1185/1186?

Play movie without Navigation

The RTD 1185/1186 based players where great in their time and in my perception are still the best players around for mere DVD/BD/BD-3D playback today.
I hope Q10 Pro will beat them soon, but today definitely does not.

Have both a Xtreamer Prodigy and an Eminent EM-7385 still in use for this purpose (bedrooms). The EM-7375 has a lesser menu system but is almost bug free which I won't claim for Prodigy and even works fine with an 8 TB HDD Internally and externally. Both have these suggested Menu options as 900A/B apparently did as well. Yes looking in the archive makes sense.  ;)

I  would like to report a problem with firmware  1.07 - somebody else reported this before, but I found it a bit confusing to understand, so let me try to repeat what the problem consists of:

I am using a JVC projector (X500) that only accepts 4K60 at 4:2:0

- If I setup the player to output the menu @ 2160p/24, then colorspace is set to 4:2:2 YUV, which is correct as it is the best option for my projector at this resolution/rate.
      - At this setting, If I play a 24hz movie, it stays at colorspace  4:2:2 YUV, which is correct

- If I then setup the player to output the menu @ 2160p/60, then the colorspace is set to 4:2:0 as it should (it is correct)
      - At this setting, If I play a 24hz movie, it switches to 8bit RGB (not correct, should use YUV 4:2:2)

Futeko, appreciate if you could report this to Himedia.

Regards.
