Eratic volume with vob video

while playing vob files..volume go up & down throughout video (both analog audio output & hdmi) using the built in player.  tested same file on q10 & q5 4k..no problem.  this problem only happen on my q10 pro

It's the first time I've heard this reported as a problem.

Can you provide a sample VOB file?

Here is one of the very very many files with this symptom....the file is originally vob...i converted to mkv to test if it makes any difference.....sadly the volume still go up and down and up and down throughout. The exact same file plays fine in Kodi...volume consistent.

It seems that this happens to video files with ac3 audio track.

i thought i m the only one with this issue....spoke to a himedia reseller & confirmed many q10 pro owners have same problem...probably internal media player have issue with ac3 streams

What reseller told you that?

We are probably the busiest forum for Q5/Q10 Pro and this problem hasn't been noted before.

I agree that on that sample you posted the volume does does go up and down, but it could just be that one sample? The quality of the sample is poor.

If audio generally went up and down for AC3 like on that sample this forum would have been full of it over the past few months.

its noticeable with music video files that has ac3 stream & on the analog audio output (red & white rca jack) because you wont notice it with movies files as movies are not constant volume.  I have over 1000 vob music video files with ac3 with that issue. the same file is used to play on the regular q5 4k & q10 4k box with no issue at all..hence, it must be a bug with q10 pro. My friends have q10 pro as well & same issue occur to them. I thought i must have a defective box...but i guess not

I tried to convert the audio stream of the same file from ac3 to aac....video play perfectly with no eratic volume.

I will pass your sample file onto HiMedia. If another reseller has said they know about the problem then it's likely HiMedia know about it, but no harm me prodding them also. I do hear the erratic volume on that sample.

after 2 firmware updates.....this bug still exist & not fixed !  same file(s) play perfectly fine on q10 4k or any other android box
there is a real problem with q10 pro handling video file with ac3
