YCbCr 4:2:0 10 Bit

Hi,

is there a reason why I cannot chose "YCbCr 4:2:0 10 Bit" while displaying at 2160/24p?
When I tried to pick it, the HiMedia box tells me, that this is only allowed while in 2160 50p or 60p?

Buggy Firmware.  Will need to wait for fixes.  I had same issues

in my case i have probleme with HDR10.

- I have new Demos 4K HDR from LG, now I can used both (LG and Sony) for testing the HDR10.

- Sony Camp 4K HDR
- LG 4K HDR Daylight
- LG 4K HDR Tech

HDR10 with YCbCr 4.2.0 10Bit  : the colors seems to be like 8bit gradient/gradient dithering, the High Dynamic range works well.

HDR10 with YCbCr 4.2.0 8Bit : the colors seems to be like 8bit gradient/gradient dithering, the High Dynamic range works well.

HDR10 with YCbCr 4.2.2 : the colors seems to be like 8bit gradient/gradient dithering, the High Dynamic range works well.

AUTO   with YCbCr 4.2.0 10Bit : the colors seems to be like 8bit gradient/gradient dithering, the High Dynamic range works well.

in addition there is something very strange,I have half of the screen that has the problem, look on photos below you will see the right side with the problem et the left side seems to be normal

The colors seems to be like 8bit gradient/gradient dithering is more discreet than 4.2.0 10Bit and the gradient/gradient dithering is on the full screen.

I would like to repeat my question in more detail:
Will the firmware be fixed for this issue?
I need 4:2:0 10 Bit otherwise I cannot get a picture at all with 4:4:4 10 Bit.

If it would be that simple, I would have already gone the cable route.
I am asking about a feature in the HiMedia that is not working at the moment and would like to know when this will be fixed and not for a new cable solution.

1. The HDMI cable comes in the box, what quality is it? Doesn't it support 18 GBPS? should we buy a new cable?
2. I watch just a few 4K demos very rarely, I mostly watch 720p and 1080p movies. For 720p and 1080p, which selection should I prefer for better video quality, 1080@60HZ  444 10 bit or 2160@60 HZ 420 10 bit?

I believe you. But I do not like to chroma upsample, I would like to prefer the ability to display at 4:2:0 from a bitrate perspective as well from a "do not alter the signal" perspective. UHD movies are mastered at 4:2:0 and I do really not see why I should upsample it.
One reason for buying the Q10 was to be able set those settings individually and therefore I ask Futeko when they will deliver what they offer, or seem to offer, in their settings.

Goog god... That is totally fine because that is technically not possible!!!
There is no 3D in the 4k world!!!!!
Go to 1080p and play the video!

I totally agree with you.  And yet both Uhd players currently  on the market do chroma upscale the discs and whenever I tried to play something with the Q10pro with less than 4:4:4 it looked washed out and clearly worse.
But it works... AND THE JVC showed in the Info: 10bit HDR and deep color was greyed out.
