Himedia Q10Pro System Update & Kodi opening Problems

Just received my Q10Pro and have tried to update system via internet, file downloads ok, click to install, system reboots, android man twirls around suggesting updating is being carried out, system opens, check the upgrade button again in settings and system still shows the old system installed and that a new update is available, carried out the above operations three times still showing update available, finally gave up. Also tried to open Kodi, warning message appears obb. missing,  exit app. These two problems are most frustrating and spoils my initial experiences with the Q10Pro. A big letdown, pity as the picture via the inbuilt mediaplayer app is very good. Before the Q10Pro I was using a Popcorn A400, much better build quality than the Q10, operates superbly, again excellent picture, pity it doesn't do the latest codecs that the Q10 does.
Can anyone suggest where I am going wrong and what I need to do.

I'll check re. the repeated update available message. Is this what other customers experience?

In the meantime decline the update.

The OBB problem happens once on first run of Kodi. It's an issue with Google Play Store, Android forces install of the OBB file if large apps don't originate from Play Store.

What do I do to ensure Kodi works. Do I uninstall Kodi then reinstall it from Goggle Play Store, or is there another method. I found the system update file approx 645MB in size on the Q10Pro and tried to unzip it but the Q10 informed me it didn't recognised the file, whats happening surely it should know what this file is. As these problems  were aware to other users  someone should have sorted it out by now, it doesn't give me much reassurance for the future re updates.

I just uninstalled KODI and reinstalled it from Google Play, works fine.

The OBB message will only appear the first time you run Kodi. After that you won't get it. It's caused by Android OS / Google forcing install of the OBB file because Kodi is not from Play Store. So it will only be a temporary problem. If you install firmware then run Kodi twice you will not see the OBB message.

Kodi installed from Play Store won't have this problem at all and has the advantage of auto-updating to latest Kodi version. I'd recommend installing Kodi from Play Store just for the auto-updates.

The update file doesn't need to be unzipped. It is a zip called 'update.zip'. You can put it on a USB stick and update according to these instructions: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=907.0

Managed to overcome the Kodi problem by uninstalling the original Kodi app and then downloading it from the Goggle Play Store and reinstalling it, and it now opens correctly. The firmware update problem though is still not sorted.
