Xbox 360 Controller Wireless Adapter

I've read various reports about people getting an Xbox 360 wireless adapter working (the USB dongle which then lets you connect wirelessly) in Android, but they all seem to mention modifying a certain system file which requires root access - does anyone plan on doing this? I'd like to use the Q10 for some light emulation duties

Alternatively, are there any standard bluetooth controllers known to work with the Q10?

Partially answering my own question

I had a play around with the Q10 over the weekend. Plugging in an Xbox 360 game pad doesn't work; it receives power, but is not recognised by games/emulators. Same result with using the wireless 360 adapter.

I then rooted the Q10 using the LAN method posted on this forum - painless and very quick to do. I followed the guides about copying specific key layout files for both wireless/wired 360 gamepads, but unfortunately got the same result. It would be nice if HiMedia could think about adding native support for this at some point, like the Nvidea Shield TV for example.

I also tried to pair a DualShock 4 with the Q10 (the PS4's controller). It pairs fine with my Android phone, but hangs at the pairing stage with the Q10 so also can't be used in this way - people do report patchy compatibility though with various devices.

Finally, I tried the Sixaxis controller app - this worked with both the Dualshock 3 (PS3) and Dualshock 4 (PS4) controllers, so at least I have a solution. Note this also requires root if you want to connect wirelessly.

I too am into emulation and have a Playstation one and snes emulator on the q10 pro.  I have a moga power pro which works great for andriod games and emulators and also a Matrices blutooth contoller.   Works very good for super nes games and Playstation  (the controller looks more like a PSX controller with A B X Y buttons).  The moga is more of the 360 in looks and button layout.

Do you get any input lag with those 2 controllers? The PS3 controllers using Sixaxis has a small amount of lag - not a deal breaker, but enough to be noticeable and does spoil it a bit.

Hmm.  I notice a very small lag with the moga control.   But that's when I'm playin playstore games like sonic 1 and 2.  As for the emulators I didn't notice any.

Funny you should say that, as my usual 'test' game is running Sonic 1 for the megadrive/** - and that is where I noticed the lag i.e. you press a button and sonic jumps just a little bit too late, making the game a bit unplayable.

I'd be interested to hear your experience playing Sonic with e.g. MD.EMU?

I have not tried the mega drive emulator seeing that Sega made the sonic games for andriod.  But I do notice the lag you speak about in the Google play sonic games.  The only game on the snes side of thing I notice lag is the mega man x games.

I mean i could buy a bluetooth gamepad for android, but when you already have a dongle and multiple gamepads at home...

Sorry for diging this up, but this may help you: I also have to face the same problem until I try Game controller 2 touch on Q10 Pro (Tincore key mapper and Six axis control did not work on Q10 pro as I tried). Now I can play any touch game with my noname gamepad (and cheap as well). I also wish Q10 Pro could support native controller or some kind of native emulator like Shield. It shall be a big bonus for end users

I've given up using the Q10 as an emulation machine for the time being. I was considering selling on my Wii-U recently as it has been gathering dust for a couple of years now, but didn't realise just how far some of the modding has come on for it (including for the vWii, which is basically fine for anything developed for the original Wii).

Given with a bit of tweaking it will run anything from Nintendo (either via emulation or natively) it's only really the PSX which it can't handle - which I don't really emulate that much anyway.

One of the bonuses is you get wireless remote support for free (and of course USB wired support for the majority of legacy controllers if that is your thing) and having played around with it this week, pretty much zero lag - something the Android emulators all seem to struggle with.

Same shoes here. I have a XBOX360 Wireless for PC Gamepad, which is (IMO) one of the best gamepads out there, and I offcourse feel exaggaration to buy any other one (reported here as working, and probably not as quality as the X360) just to have another one to play with the Q10 Pro.

I would also mainly use it for emulators. I would be highly appreciated and -on some level- righteously expected from Himedia to implement native support for this controller in the upcomming firmware(s). To give another drive for this to happen: I think that the XBOX360 controller (both the wired and the wireless one) for PC is one of the most widely and regurarly used gamepads right now, and it would lighten many PC gamers situation, if they just could use it for these Android Boxes as well.

Honestly the Q10 pro plays the PSX games perfectly.  as for the controller.  I am now using my Gamesir G4s which is a excellent 360/xbox one controller.  or you cant try the XBox one S controller that has Bluetooth.  I have a problem playing Dreamcast games, and Sega Saturn games.  But everything else i tried worked fine.
