Q5 Quad Screen Saver?
« on: March 10, 2015, 09:01:37 PM »
Hello,
Any ideas when Himedia Q5 Quad will have a screen saver? My tv's are burning in when I am not playing a movie...and when media player is not in use. Or maybe anybody have a workaround? Thank you!

You can install any screensaver app from Play Store. There are loads of free ones.

Right, I see the problem. Screensavers are not enabled in the Android firmware so the Play Store screensavers won't run. I will do some more testing today and get back to you tomorrow with what HiMedia think.

HiMedia are have their engineer team look at it.

The problem is related to the HiMedia launcher, which removes the default Android wallpaper/lock screen/screensaver settings. That's why the Play Store screensavers won't work properly. HiMedia have talked before about a complete revamp of the launcher. It may be that the new launcher is the long term solution.
