Using (eHome) MCE remotes with Media Center (and KODI)???
« on: April 29, 2016, 01:01:07 PM »
Anyway to get the good old and very nice eHome MCE remotes (Microsoft)  working with Android / KODI?

In fact have another media player with Dual Boot for Lollipop and OpenElec and that one works nice with my MCE remote when booted with OpenElec only. Using Android Lollipop the App made specially for it can't be found in the library.

i am not understood: usually MCE remotes (Microsoft) with USB irda ( sold with him )  except some button (power on/ 3d ecc..) work without issues.

Works fine under Openelec but not under Android. Both the other and Q10 Pro neither show the App as an option:

Are you sure you saw it ever working with Android regardless the processor type?
Is there a way to try installing it manually?

MCE remote use the eHome IR standard and requires a matching driver. Keymap_Editor presumes that standard  IR-codes already come in.
You can then map such code to the action desired, which works very nice.

Without the eHome driver no codes come in from MCE remote so it won't do anything. I have it installed obviously first and tried it as a first action.
