Video Color space & HDMI deep color

Could somebody say some words to it.

I`m wondering that I can`t set it to YCbCr444 10Bit but to 8 Bit.
If I try to change the settings to 10 Bit, the screen comes back in some seconds with the old setup, means 8 Bit.
My TV is the brandnew Panasonic DXW904 with UHD Premium certificate and HDR (HDMI cable is certified for 4K, HDR also). Therefore I should do it.

For my point of view I must set 10 Bit to see HDR.
Maybe some experts could explain the settings in general (best settings, etc. )and what`s behind it.

I had the same problem as you when I encountered the blotch in the picture in some scenes.

My Sony 4K is deep color and YCbCr4:2:0:8bit and everything I tried to set the color to that it would revert back to the original setting.

Then I tried HDMI auto detect in the HiMedia setting and it still didn't work but I was able to get closer to the next level.

It wasn't until I changed the resolution from 1080p 60HZ to 2160 that HiMedia box automatically gave me the color color palette to YCbCr4:2:0:8 bit

Check with your T.V specs and see what the manufacturer has listed.

Maybe for yours all you need to do is check the option to HDMI auto detect in the settings, I believe that option is in display settings.

At the box:
Changed the custom display format to 1080p (several Hz) > it works, 10 Bit possible
If I go back to 2160P > only 8 Bit possible

So, is there something wrong, problem in the box?

I have the same issue with a 18Gbit certified HDMI cable on a HDR10 capable OLED tv (tv HDMI input set to deep color y/n).

Must have something to do with the HDR - black screen issue. Looks like the Q10Pro refuses to switch to 10bit when in 2160p mode, which is also needed for displaying HDR.

May I suggest you try going into settings -> HDMI Auto Adaptation and turn that on with the OK key on the remote.

Then go back to Video Color Space and HDMI Deep Color and see what setting you get.

May I suggest you try going into settings -> HDMI Auto Adaptation and turn that on with the OK key on the remote.

Then go back to Video Color Space and HDMI Deep Color and see what setting you get.

I`ve done that > goes to 1080p > that works (see my results).
I bought and drive my TV for 2160p and not 1080p (means old HD).
My meaning, as of now, 3DFreezeMe is near at the truth with his statement.

It's a private test firmware, sorry. A new Q10 Pro firmware will come within a couple of weeks, probably sooner.

The HDR bug is something that only appeared in the shipping firmware, it wasn't there in pre-production test firmware. It was a surprise to us and HiMedia.

Did you validate that It si implemented as a dynamic feature (should follow the source and auto adopt)?
So material at 8-bit comes out as 8-bit and material with 10-bit results in 10-bit to be forwarded.
I have seen this going wrong with deep Color for 'standard HD on BD.
