Magnifico, HDMI Auto ends up in stuttering nearly every movie.
This sets the output to 1080p 50 Hz, and that even manually produces endless stuttering in all non 24Hz movies.

Futeko, here my results.
It is a bit special.

Your reference material in 24Hz and important 1080p was played in 24Hz 1080p.
What I did not recognize is, that I in 95% of all movies, I have Classics in SD and the rest in 720p.
Only a few movies are in 1080p and even less of those 1080p movies in 24Hz.
To be exact, I found only one Movie in 1080p 24Hz, it is Avatar, and it is played in 1080p and 24Hz.
So far so good.

The serious thing is, that I have hundreds or even thousends of movies in 720p 24Hz and too even SD movies in 24Hz.
But the Q10 Pro does not identify them as 24Hz, they are always played in 1080p 60Hz.

Is that, how it should be?
That the Q10 Pro only recognizes 24Hz Material, if it is in 1080p?
So is it correct, that SD and 720p 24Hz material is not played in 1080p 24Hz?
Or will there be an Update, so that too 720p and SD material is played in 1080p 24Hz?
Is this a bug?
Thanx.

BTW I recognized a little bug.
When playing movies with 1080p 60Hz and I press the TV Mode Button, the display shows "1080p 60Hz".
When playing movies with 1080p 24Hz and I press the TV Mode Button, the display shows ... nothing.  :(

You're right, Alter_Schwede62, it only works for 1080 content and only when using Media Center for selecting the video. When I use Kodi it stays at 60Hz for 1080 content as well. That is particularly unfortunate because Media Center refuses to play a lot of my files.

Again the question to futeko.com:

Will there be an Update, so that too 720p and SD 24Hz material will be played in 1080p 24Hz?
Or isn't that planned?

You're right, Alter_Schwede62, it only works for 1080 content and only when using Media Center for selecting the video. When I use Kodi it stays at 60Hz for 1080 content as well. That is particularly unfortunate because Media Center refuses to play a lot of my files.

If you install wrapper for Kodi switching works exactly as with HiMedia video player app.

We will test some 720p 23.976 material and, presuming that you are correct that it won't auto switch frame rate, we'll mention to HiMedia that it should auto-switch the same as 1080p.

I Had a similar problem to this.  Only 3d was switching to 24hz.

What I found that fixed the issue was going into Q10 settings->display->custom display format and trying different settings.  I cannot remember which setting I selected as I am at work and not got access.

By changing the setting I found it also allowed me to set video and colour space to YCbCr444 10bit.  When display format was set to 4k 60hz it did not allow me to select this mode.

Anyway after changing display.  Think I selected 4k @ 30hz then I could select the YCbCr444 10bit and movies started switching to the correct frame rate.

Yes, but unfortunately that also makes me unable to play a lot of my files at all. The HiMedia player just says "Content cannot be read". It would be much better if it was possible to select 24 Hz manually. Btw, it doesn't switch automatically for 25Hz content that is not 1080p either.

In Kodi if you press menu button on remote when file is selected you'll get a menu with an option 'play using'. You can use this to choose DVDPlayer (Kodi internal player) if you prefer.

After some testing we acknowledge the non-1080p auto frame rate switching problem and will report it to HiMedia.
