Received my Q10Pro today, connected up and downloaded latest Kodi, installed the wrapper, and added some video path's in Kodi, set the settings to the recommended HDMI raw and 7.1 audio for the amp, and so far I have not been able to play some 4K files that my TV can, IMO the streaming from my NAS is not as good as the TV,  my HD camcorder files don't play back with anywhere near the clarity as on the TV,and I am also having trouble with a lot of audio formats, some films just wont play back the sound track.

So not impressed, so if some kind soul can advise me on what setting would/should be best, I'll persevere and see if anything improves, if not it may get returned.

OK things are getting a little better, with some tweaking the PQ is improving, but my HD camcorder videos are still not looking right, the main bugbear is kodi will play HDR but its washed out, and the TV doesn't switch with the meta data to full back light and contrast, and it wont play ate all in the native player, its also odd that the native player will see and play one of my atmos demos in full DTS HD but Kodi wont, and doesn't even see the rest of the files,
so audio is not doing what I had hoped, so it still might not be for me, its seems to need too much faffing about to get each movie to play right.

What format are the videos you're having problems with? Codec / container?

There's a known bug with HDR files where they won't play correctly (sound but no picture) when played on a non-HDR TV. This is a regression from previous pre-production firmware which did not have the problem and will be fixed in next firmware update, coming soon. When this is fixed you'll get the usual great PQ from HiMedia player or Kodi with wrapper without any faffing about.

For HD audio (except DTS/AC3) you need to use HiMedia player or Kodi with wrapper. Vanilla Kodi is 5.1 audio max.

Will check this out a bit later, the TV is a Samsung JS9000 which is UHD/HDR, the main reason for getting the Q10 Pro was for getting the audio codecs to the AV receiver , as the TV can only output DD and DTS 2.5 when streaming via optical or HDMI.

I have several Atmos demos but I am having trouble getting multi channel out of the box, (amp wont decode Atmos but will most other things, the box is supposed to facilitate this so I can purchase an Atmos amp,
The odd thing is last night I managed to get one of the atmos demo files to play and the amp showed DTS HD but I cant seem to reproduce this today despite changing the output settings.

I am finding that the TV does a slightly better job of some file formats than the box, but all this maybe moot as the dam TV developed a fault, and is being replaced with a later model on Friday, so I will have to wait and see how that pans out.

We can't offer support for Kodi repos due to the content, but HiMedia Q10 Pro uses vanilla Android Kodi with no modifications. Any instructions for Android Kodi will work with Q10 Pro.

I am also finding that You tube and Netflix are not only buggy and stop working, but the PQ is not good on Netflix, the native media player times out and reverts to source when searching for a film, to be honest I am not finding it as I expected,  perhaps I was expecting too much I don't know, so I think I will be returning it.

Netflix on all Android devices, except a select few chosen by Netflix, is 480p max. This is a limitation imposed by Netflix.

I recommend using Kodi over the native media player app. The media player app is very basic and is only really intended as a fallback. Kodi is the best media browsing / management app anywhere, and with the wrapper installed you get all Q10 Pro hardware features from Kodi.

Q10 Pro has many features in which it leads, but I guess it's not for everyone.
