My problem solved  in software 2.0.5 -  access google  account login ,  added account tab.   I   had  to reset  google  services  to  factory  settings, now   everything works beautifully.

This problem also exists on Himedia Q30 android 7.

If you update google play services and log out of your google account (I do not want to stay logged in to google all the time)
1) the add google account is not working
2) you are not able to open google play store to input your login info and
3) you have to uninstall the google play services update. to get the above working again.

Unfortunately the latest version of You Tube apk requires google play services update and there is a constant nagging popup screen, it becomes unusable and have to use older version of the you tube apk.

Sure hope Himedia sort out this defect in the firmware.

If you want to use the latest version of the apk, you must make a compromise. Updating Play Services is a must on any Android if you want the latest and greatest. I fear there is nothing HiMedia can do about it. I do not understand why you do not want to be logged in at all times. I dislike having to login everytime I want to do anything, especially with Google products (I use a lot of them). It is unpractical to login and logout just to see a video, for instance.

Can I request (again  >:() that any future firmware updates include a Power Menu app and allow users to *permanently* delete unwanted apps like Skype, Facebook and MovieBar (and do NOT reappear on a re-boot)?

It not being possible to delete apps is a choice of HiMedia, it's not a bug. The method to delete them if you really want to is in the FAQ and the pcristi custom firmware allows them to be deleted. A power button for the home screen is similarly in the pcristi custom firmware if you want it.

Well, I'm not sure what the changelog is for 2.0.5 but, unfortunately, it doesn't fix my biggest gripe with the Android 7 firmware.  To access my network drive (external drive hooked up to router), I have to use ES File Explorer or some external app.  The HiMedia Settings/Media Center are unable to connect.  When creating the shortcut I get the "Network Error.  Check Network State" message every time.  I don't think it has anything to do with the router or drive as this feature worked under the 1.X.X firmware(s).  Has anyone else found a workaround?  I can keep using the external app but sometimes I just want to use the HiMedia app because it is easier to use with a remote control.

Yes, I accept all of that. As I've said before it looks as if HiMedia are being paid to put them there  ;)??? Obviously Netflix back out this time! I suspect this is illegal under European law? Remember what happened when Microsoft only installed IE with Windows? Remember what happened to Google when they plugged paid adverts in searches?

I've already added pcristi's PowerMenu apk, but wouldn't it be more sensible for HiMedia to put one in by default  :o?

There is something Himedia can do about it; they can fix it and make it work. Its working on all my other devices, phones, tv boxes, why not on himedia boxes? BTW they have just issued an updated firmware and have still not fixed it, shows how himedia take care of their customers. I wonder if they promoted non working features on their devices at their recent attendance at a tech fair in Europe to promote their products.

Really annoying, I do not want to stay logged into google all the time and it not asking too much to have a firmware where you can log in and log out of google play services/store everytime just as I do with my email accounts.

aside from the power control issue (not switching off properly) the changes in the maintain aspect ratio option in the playback settings are not saved after powering off the box and on again (sometimes changes made are saved and sometimes not)....
thanks

The new firmware (2.0.5) messed up my audio passthrough in Kodi (DTS etc.)
Is there a way to fix this or any way to revert back to 2.0.4?

Did you use the "clean, paperclip" method to update?!

Otherwise, can any one else confirm these new bugs?! Thanks!

it seems that after many switch ons and offs , there's no more switch off issues (at least with my Rii i25 airmouse).
the remaining issue for me is the aspect ratio setup in playback settings no saving changes after reboots. thanks
