I believe audiotrack v23 support in order to bitstream HD audio directly from kodi should be the main focus , i know this probably needs to be addressed by hisilicon chipset developers and not himedia, is there any chance it will be included in the next update? I think other serious box providers have implemented the feature ( minix , wetek) even in cheaper boxes than q5/q10 , when you buy a pricy box you have expectations in terms of support and himedia should deliver. I dont mind using the wrapper for playback but i would like to use the internal player as much as possible since i find myself using streaming content a lot more these days. If i could have proper playback of streams and proper subtitle downloading using himedia player (wrapper) i wouldn't have a problem.
My main issues with the box currently are:
Netflix support at least do something to have fullhd playback 480p is unwatchable.
Youtube playback at 4k is also an issue although getting 1080p is satisfactory i would like to get the max out of the youtube player
Hd bitstream through kodi intermal player using proper audiotrack v23 specs.
Better support for periferals i have a mele f10 deluxe, airmouse funtionality and keyboard is good but i could never find a way to use speech input and gyro support for games.

You can modify the playerfactory.xml file of KODI to get both the online streams (played by KODI player) and the local playback (played by HiMedia Player) work automatic. Online stream playback would be highly welcomed to have in HiMedia Player, but i guess it just would need so many changes an implementations, that it seams rather impossible.

For HD Netflix support they would need an agreement from Netflix, so the ball is not on Himedia's site this time. It is also somewhat improbable, as Netflix is very picky regrading giving certifications, and there are no any other Media Boxes out there with HD Netflix support.

Regarding the KODI HD audio support: it seams that they have done it oppositely what they have said previously according the new fw procession: they promised the KODI HD audio fix first, and the HDR bug fix afterwards. So there would have been two "after-another" sequential ordered updates. So what's the situation now Futeko, you know if there is another fw update planned soon, whit the KODI HD audio -and possibly more- fix included?!

Can we volunteer to be beta-testers ? Several products publish Beta-firmware to be tested at user's risk, and I am willing to take the risk.

I have a Q5 PRO, not sure the beta exists for both Q5 and Q10 ?

I can confirm there is a new firmware . We have also received it for testing.

The official release will be next week, sorry for the date slipping again.

As 'RiCo97' posted on the Russian forum, it fixes the HDR bug. It's also rock solid stable, which is a relief after 2.0.3.

The posted changelog is correct.

Roll on next week..

What is with the microstutter problem playing 3D ISO - is this also fixed in the new firm?

hi there, i just received my q10 pro.

it was shipped with the latest firmware for android 5.1

i wonder if i need to go through the 2 stages of upgrading to android 7? or can i just download the latest firmware for android 7 2.0.3 and upgrade?

any particular benefits to upgrade to android 7?

i use the media player mainly for streaming HD movies from my own NAS.

using only a normal full HD TV and Denon AVR 2300 with a 5.0 setup. (woofer went kaput so not using a sub woofer for the time being)

TIA

Stryke

Hi, yes you would need to do the two step process if you wanted android 7.  Its hard to say if its worth the upgrade at this stage.  As I understand the situation the next firmware update will be for android 7 so you would have to upgrade for those.  I would suggest, if you happy with the way you box is working now is to wait until the next update has been released and tried out and if its reported as a good firmware then do the upgrades.

As a result of the tests, I unsubscribe:
1. BDMV folders (including UHD) are automatically launched for playback (now you do not need to look for M2TS). And from network sources, too. Chapterset and Switch track work. The test utility produces fractional frequencies of 23.976 Hz at the output!
2. HDR ratio: The aspect ratio is now correct, in a regular player.
Test files 23.976 Hz HDR Crop
3840 * 2076 - OK all pixels are in place
3840 * 1634 - 2 pixels from below bites off
3840 * 1620 - OK all pixels are in place
3840 * 1606 - 2 pixels from below bites off
3840 * 1600 - OK all pixels are in place
The test utility outputs 23.976 Hz at the output!

Test files 59.940 Hz HDR Crop
3840 * 2076 - OK all pixels are in place
3840 * 1634 - 2 pixels from below bites off
3840 * 1620 - OK all pixels are in place
3840 * 1606 - 2 pixels from below bites off
3840 * 1600 - OK all pixels are in place
But the test utility outputs 60 Hz. (Not fixed)
3. There is no reset (Resolution, frequency and ColorSpace settings)
4. IMPREX ENGINE can now be customized in any mode and at any resolution.
5. Redesigned menus, when you click the buttons, during playback. Added more settings and features.
6. Added more information when you click on the INFO button (Codec and bitrate)
In the 3D ISO, the output is still the same 24Hz
The rest I can start later. Unsubscribe.
UPD. By the way. Perhaps this is a beta of beta, but it only got on top of 2.0.3. On 1.0.9 / 1.0.10 and on 2.0.1 beta did not want to get up. I already informed Himedia about this.

It seems so. Futeko said the fix came after the hdr bug fix. So we have to wait for another 3 months (or more) till we get hd audio passthrough with kodi player. :-X

And still no audio offset for the himedia player? After all this time?   Have owned my Q5 Pro for a while and generally love it - but as someone who watches a lot of films and likes to have everything synced properly this is a big issue and from my browsing over the forum I'm not the only one. Feel compelled to join the forum ans raise it again as there seems to be no sign of it being added in these firmware releases despite it being brought up a while ago.

Fact is, even now with better encoding processes there are some vids that need an offset of a couple hundred milliseconds.  The standard kodi player has it, heck even my old trusty WDTVLive Hub had it and they stopped providing firmwares updates for that years ago.

Bit disappointing that something so minor and yet so useful for lots of users hasn't been added  :(
