It is difficult for Himedia to survive if without   Full BD menu feature while the competitors have it.

BD menu is not important, it is a Kodi streaming device and that must be working perfect!
HiMedia Q10 Pro | ATV 2.1.7 | Kodi 18.9 | Rii i8 Plus | Harmony Ultimate One | Pioneer VSX-934 | Sony 55A89 4K Android TV

Agree, The importance of BD menu is much lower than the fix for anamorphic (2.4:1 - 3840 x 1600 and 2.39:1 - 3840 x 1608) aspect ratio. This not just the problem on 4K HDR and also on HD movie. Also the TrueHD Atmos audio is an issue too. Dolby said it is backward compatible if the device support DD+. Hisilicon chipset support it but Q10 Pro downmix does not work properly. DTS has no problem for all formats. I don't know if Himedia will implement Dolby Vision in the future even the chipset support that may be the problem of licensing. Sony had promised their high end 4K HDR Android TV will support DV. My Sony X80D plays the anamorphic movie in correct aspect ratio and also TrueHD Atmos audio track. Recent firmware update also confirm HLG supported.

How HD movies would have this HDR aspect ratio bug? Did you experienced by yourself? I strongly doubt you would find any HD or FHD + HDR video sources at all.

And what is exactly the issue with TrueHD Atmos sound?! Yours sound system doesn't support it, and it doesn't even play the embedded core DD or DTS audio?!

Aspect ratio problem will not happen to 4K HDR movie only. Every file if the aspect ratio were not 3840 x 2160 or 1920 x 1080 will have problem on playback at Media Centre. It is nothing to do with resolution or SDR or HDR. You can try any movie with 1920 x 800 that will exhibit the same as 3840 x 1600. Because the player only understand 16:9 and 4:3. Movies have more aspect ratio than these. This is simply the problem of Media Centre player. All other independent players for other platform do not have this problem because they understand most of the aspect ratio for movies. Only the player based on Hisilicon SDK that Himedia Q5/10 Pro and Egreat A5/A10 suffer. I am not technical enough to justify if the problem is from Hisilicon or Himedia. This is the basic problem has to address first.

Audio problem is more complicated. The movie I play has single stream of TrueHD does not play but DTS does. Because normally DTS HD MA 7.1 has 5.1 core included in the same stream. But TrueHD Atmos does not. It needs the DD+ compatible hardware to play backward (downmix) to 5.1 as Dolby said, it also need to have the player software tell the hardware how to do. I have the same movie play on my Sony X80D (on USB stick) no problem but Q10 Pro (on HDD and USB stick) has no sound. This tells me how the player handle the audio that makes the difference.

Actually it does. You have some missconfiguration there if you have the issue with other videos as well.
Check on the device: Settings -> Playback -> Maintain aspect ratio: Keep ratio

Sorry, No. I actually have the keep aspect ratio "on" all the time. It does not play the movie correctly. Otherwise, why people need to use MX player instead? As the Media Centre player does not play correctly but the MX player does. That simple. If this is the case, the complaint will not have such high noise.

Well it plays correctly for me so I can't help you in this one.

Your misunderstand something.  The aspect ratio function in the Settings menu works like it should. If you select  "Keep ratio", than it will maintain the original aspect ratio for any videos. It is how it does and it is how is should work.  Only HDR videos are affected with the aspect ratio bug. I still don't get it, what your complaining about. :???

I didn't know that True-HD downmix doesn't work (so maybe it's a deficiency), but as far as I know, True HD audio in most cases, should have a DD  (AC3) companion track as well in the video.

No mention on the subtitles search problem in this previous version? Will this be fixed in this version?
