Video picture quality is the same using Kodi internal player and HiMediaplayer (wrapper) with Imprex enhancement turned off. Imprex is not essential and many people prefer as little messing with the image as possible. Picture quality with Imprex off or via Kodi player is excellent.
No, it's not. The color space (not sure if that is the correct expression) is much lower when using Kodi. The result is that the dark shades disappear and there is only black where there should be details in darker parts of the image. It is very easy to see when using the test patterns of a Blu-ray like Spears & Munsil because most of the boxes with different shades of gray that is used for configuring contrast and brightness just aren't there. They show correctly using the HiMedia player.

I'm probably missing something basic but whenever I use the wrapper it starts the movie in a zoomed/stretched format. Like when I play it using the built in Kodi player there are black bars on the top and bottom. When I play it with the wrapper it zooms in so there are no black bars. I went into the wrapper settings and tried all the different modes but could never get it to play normal.

Is there a setting in Kodi itself that I'm missing? I'm not crazy about the black bars but when it's stretched it seems to cut off the edges of the video. I just can't figure out why the Kodi players plays the file fine but the wrapper zoom/stretches it.

What is the videos resolution? Is the video 3840*1600 pixels? Are you sure it does cut off more than just the top-under black bars? See this thread (not resolved yet, but others reported similar): http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1682.0

I will have to check the video resolution but I know they weren't HDR or 4K files. I looked at your link and those screen shots are exactly what I'm experiencing. Kodi player displays it fine but wrapper stretches everything even when I have stretch/full screen turned off in settings.  I will update with the exact resolution but like I said, it definitely wasn't an HDR or 4k file--I'm %99 sure it was a compressed 720p movie rip. I also tried playing the file on an old 720p plasma as well as a 4k OLED TV with the same result.

Which update? Updating from which firmware? Where do you get the error message (LCD / android boot screen / android OS)?

Will the next firmware be compliant with AudioTrack v23 or higher? For audio passthrough in kodi without the wrapper. Any idea when the next update will come for 5.1.1 (7 had too many problems for me)? Or are estimates of time frowned apon here?

Is there any feedback for when this pass through will work in Kodi 17 due to the firmware update? Or even when the next firmware is likely to be ready by?? Is Audiotrack v23 going to be planned to be included? Q10 Pro Android 5.1.1

I bought this box as a step up to replace one of my minix u1's but without passthrough this is a step down unfortunately, seeing I bought this for Kodi and Tasker (home automation) only. Using the wrapper does not work well for my situation.

I know I am asking again, but there hasn't been a response for some time now.

Waiting for: 1. When using subtitle time adjust video start stuttering.
2. Subtitles with zero time gap not displaying problem.

Except these two bugs, box is working fine.

I have no news from HiMedia. I'll try and push them into giving an update next week.
