@ralphberner: that is the initialization of the app. The first time it start it will be a little slower. No app starts quickly, it needs to be configured. This applies to all apps on all ecosystems ;)

Does this firmware show 3d isos/rips at 23.976 fps or does it still have a microstutter?

The situation is more that it needs fixing by HiSilicon not HiMedia.

So this continues to affect also the Egreat products ?

Yes. http://en.egreatworld.com/comunity/index.php?threads/3d-is-jerky-not-smooth.2913/page-2#post-20387

I would echo what is said in that thread. With some TVs the frame skip at 41s is invisible. I would also say that in terms of picture quality HiSilicon are the best of the best.

I'm new to the Q5 Pro, and thought that maybe the stutter had to do with that auto framerate patch I installed.

But obviously it's a known problem: Blu-ray 3D movies are not playable! >:(  I'm very disappointed! >:(

Just another Android China Junk.  >:(

I am very frustrated with this old 3D issue as well  - please, email Himedia directly, as they seem to think nobody cares about 3D

Partially true. I didn't detected the 3D frame skip at all up to FW 1.0.9, than I've jumped straight to 2.0.6 and the frame drop became visible, juts like for anyone else. It's sure that somehow they changed how HiPlayer outputs or handles the motion or the frequency, because somehow it also affected the 2D 23.976fps motion in the longer camera pans and tilts, as they also become a bit more different and juddery and now there's some slight vibration during the movement (tho' I've only detected when my TV had the True Motion option turned on at Level 0, but it was more smoother and natural on 1.0.9 and previously. But 3D frame drop happens independently from the True Motion). All this on  Samsung H6400 active 3D TV.

For the best they could keep the PQ enhancements of the 2.0.6 fw and drop back to how the movement was handled on 1.0.9.

There are so many problems with the Q5/Q10 Pro devices, I wouldn't know where to start. And I'm only a newbie.

- DVDs not playable: wrong aspect ratio, missing anamorphic
- Blu-ray 3D not playable: stutter
- Blu-ray menu patch useless: it just displays the menus, but ignores any audio or subtitle selection (and doesn't even display every menu)
- forced Subtitles: no default non-subtitle option
- Kodi without DTS: because Q5/Q10 firmware is not compliant to android standards
- DTS-HDHR: not supported anymore on AV-Receivers with current DTS version
- uninstallable bloatware like Facebook, Skype, YouTube

This is a very good summary, which should be handed to Himedia for top priority resolution, instead of those minor tweaks we keep getting....

I can't even figure out, what 2.0.7 and 2.0.8 fw supposed to fix, or what intent is behind them.  These just bought more bugs, some of them never detected before, and some that were already fixed in previous firmwares. The thing I can thought of is that HiMedia seems to rewrite the same base firmware all over again, rather than working on a later produced version, so they run into the same mistakes they already made before, without paying attention or will to fix it.  Like how they ended up reintroducing the same subtitle issue that has been fixed already ages ago? You might can say, that they keep on spinning the support, cause there are frequently released updates, but these begin to seem a bit like "just for the showcase" and to propagate the number of fw-s and truth is, that they are now rather downgrades in many aspects. And it's just totally unpredictable what you will get in the next package, it's juts not the way how a professional firmware development and support should work.
